On September 12 2021 I was5 involved in a hit and run accident on 441 in Forest City Florida and Tri-County Towing was dispatched to come tow my vehicle. Originally the lawyer that I retained was supposed to provide somebody to come and get the car so it wouldn't accrue storage charges sitting there. After the driver was found it was then we found out he had no insurance and my lawyer getting the car out of there didn't happen. A week later the car lot that I bought the car from call to inquire how I was doing, was I hurt etc. We were at their business 2 weeks before the accident when I bought the car. The lady from the car lot that I spoke to informed me that the car was still there and that they were going to pick it up and bring it back to the car lot. Before she called me a week after the accident I did receive a registered letter about the car but once I spoke to her I didn't think anymore about it they were going to go pick it up. In November I got a call from the insurance adjuster asking why nobody had gotten the car from the towing company. I explained to her what the car lot told me so she called them with me on the line in a three-way call and the lady admitted to her that is indeed what she had told me but that's not what they did so by now the car had a crude $3,500 worth of storage charges. A few days later in November the insurance adjuster called me back and told me that they had negotiated with the towing company and had gotten the storage fees and Towing charge down from $3,500 to $3,000. In January 2022 I went to the tag office to get tags for my replacement vehicle and was told that the towing company had a towing lien against me. So me thinking that it had been taken care of called the towing company and ask them to remove the lien. I was told that the negotiations that I told him about "was all talk." And the amount that the lien is for is exactly $500, the amount that was negotiated off. He was paid $3,000 by insurance company.
