Today I went in for the second time to Aspen Dental In ********, **. I lost a filling and needed a new one. I have full dental insurance. The first time I went in for a routine checkup, I was told they wanted to do a bunch of procedures including a cleaning, filling replacements and remove two perfectly good wisdom teeth. Then they show me the bill for those procedures and it came to a whopping *****. I was astonished to see such a number especially since I had full coverage. They said that my insurance only covered part of it but I would be on the hook ***** again, that seemed outrageous. I said no and went home without having anything done to help my situation. Fast forward to three weeks ago and I lose a filling in my sleep. I call to make an appointment tell them my situation and the best they said they could do is three weeks out. So, I go in today just to get a filling but they wont do the filling unless I pay for an expensive cleaning. I am told again that the bill for a cleaning and a filling would be *****. Confused again why just two procedures would cost so much. I again say no and leave without anything being done to help me. When I get home I contact my insurance company to see again what me benefits are and why I would have to pay so much. My insurance company confirms what I suspected, Aspen Dental is worse than a used car salesman. Everything they were trying to charge me for was covered, the most I should have paid out of pocket was around 50. My cleanings were covered for free, twice a year. They also charged me 27. for my office visit when in fact my copay is 10. My insurance company said they are clearly trying to overcharge me. I contacted another dentist office up the road and got an appointment for the next day and after confirming my insurance said the most I will pay for a cleaning and filling will be 55. They are the most dishonest dental company I have every dealt with. Do not go there.

Aspen Dental came up with a treatment plan, 3 different sets of exrays and two visits for a deep cleaning which i did not need. also i purshased a water pic, total cost of $74.99. 6 months later I'm recieving a bill for the water pic which has been paid for. When I called them about the bill and questioned them, they forword me to coorporate. I left a message! A couple of days later I recievced a call from them stating that I paid for the water pic but I still owed $70.99. They never told me what it was for! I paid up front for all my treament plan before walking out the their door!!! When I tried calling them to cancel my next appiontment, I could not get anyone on the phone! I called a week and half before this appiontmnmet! I left several messages and then I was told that I was suppose to talk with a live person to cancel. That was a day before the scheduled appointment. My total treatment plan came to over $500.00 dollars and I have a dental plan!! Reading the reviews, they also used an antibiotic after doing a deep clean. Which I feel that I did not need! I have excellent hygiene habits!! Aspen Dental putting their hands in my pocket!! As far as Im concerned, I don't owe them anything! Very disapointed in Aspen Dental!

Aspen dental is more a financial institution than a dental clinic. They upsell then refuse services unless you buy their services in total. I have the best dental insurance in existence and they added out of pocket almost a thousand dollars above my insurance would cover. For an advanced teeth cleaning. Then refused to clean my teeth and gums unless they used a certain antibiotic called Arestin.110 dollars a tooth.

Run, don’t walk, as fast as you can from Aspen Dental. I'd like to give zero stars. Patients check your dental insurance statement against the Aspen’s for overcharges. Patient went in for broken tooth in 10/22/22. Aspen overcharged patient by 3x the amount actually owed. Two days later, another appointment-again with advance billing. This time charging twice the amount owed. Allison, the office manager, was continually inaccessible and difficult with which to deal. Dental insurer talked to her about the overage saying she was rude and difficult. Subsequent to the dental insurer call, Allison calls patient to say they would “work off the credit”. Allison should not be in a customer service role. The next appointments are a joke. Three of the 4 were canceled after patient arrived at the Inverness, FL office. Another appointment, patient is told there would be no charge, however, they tried to charge him. It took 11 MONTHS to get a crown as the first crown didn't fit!!!!! There remained an overage on patient’s account. It took multiple attempts by the dental insurer to speak live with Allison only to be told she can’t talk to the dental insurer due to HIPPA. This is a blatant excuse. The dental insurer can see what procedures were performed; however, dental insurer simply wanted to address the billing. Allison states she will call patient. She did not. I followed up for patient and, despite my name on patient’s HIPPA form, Allison initially did not want to speak with me. 10/11/23 Allison was provided with all dental insurer documents. It has taken weekly eMails ascertain the status of the overage. It takes a minimum of 3 attempts to get any question answered. Almost every eMail results in yet another ticket being submitted to Aspen’s insurance group. There was finally some movement on the claim 11/23/23. Subsequent to 11/23, a partial refund was issued AFTER OVER 1 YEAR. Aspen is taking advantage of their clients by overcharging them.

Upon signing in for my appointment I was advised that I would be charged a $30 cancer screening fee that “all new patients receive at that office” and that the screening would be explained further by the dental hygienist. Already I was concerned by the “all new patients” explanation as if this optional service was mandatory because I knew my insurance covered x-rays and cleaning. After receiving x-rays, 3-d imaging, a uv light exam to check for cancer, and a periodontal probe (to check for gingivitis), the hygienist told me I would need a periodontal cleaning, or “deep” cleaning, rather than the usual dental cleaning (this is also not covered under insurance). I was seen by the dentist for 10 minutes. She recommended a new filling, replacing all my old fillings and teeth alignment. Then I was moved to a separate waiting room to review my “patient treatment plan” by a "office manager". After waiting an additional 30 min., making my visit one hour and 15 min (without the cleaning I made an appointment for) I was ushered to the billing desk. I was told that I was “in luck” and there was availability for me to get a cleaning today. I explained to the clerk that I made an appointment for a dental exam and cleaning and had not received what I had come for thus far. I explained that I wasn’t interested in reviewing additional services and I could not afford to spend more time at the dental office any longer. I asked for a copy of my dental exam, and my images. The attendant told me that they could only be retrieved through corporate so I signed a release to have them sent to me. Six business days, and a follow up verbal request and I have still not received my medical documents. I am hoping I don't have to file a claims dispute with my insurance company. I just wanted proper dental care.

Terrible service. I made an appointment for a first time cleaning. They did a 1 hr 45 minute Xray series and gum poking for which I gave permission. After the dentist looked at the results, the hygenist suggested a deep cleaning. I say OK not knowing it would be a $265 charge that insurance would not cover and that I would have to schedule another appointment. My husband's was $1200. There was no mention of an extra cost. I called to change this appointment to a regular cleaning. They said I should drop in to see the hygenist to change it. When I did, the girl at the front desk said the hygenist could explain it, but not change the appointment to a regular cleaning. I got angry and argued that I should be able to change it. I left. As I was leaving the girl at the front desk asked if I was coming to the appointmen, I shrugged. I was still angry and was not sure. She canceled the appointment without informing me. I found out when I went back to keep it. Don't go!! They will try to add extra unnecessary treatments without fulling informing patients of costs. This was at the Inverness, FL location.

If I could give 0 stars I would . When I went to aspen they did a check up and told me everything I needed to have done . They contacted my insurance to get estimates which I understand are just estimates . At the end of it my patient responsibility was $1000. I open the ********** card and only got $1000 limit so I went ahead and paid that to get started on the work I needed to have done. I got the work done but everything was OK and a couple months later got a bill in the mail for almost $1400 saying that is what I still owe. I called Aspen trying to figure out what was going on with us and was told my insurance came back and said that they weren't covering certain things. My mom called the insurance company and have been going back-and-forth for months in regards to this. I called ***** again and kept getting the runaround and was told by a lady in the managing department that they do not send the collection to an outside agency and they deal with it in office and I don't have to worry about it showing up on my credit report since we are trying to get this resolved. I get a letter in the mail today from an outside agency for the money the Aspen is saying I supposedly owe them. How is it that my patient responsibility ended up being over double what the original cost was. I told the lady at Aspen that *********** increase my credit limit and that worst case scenario I would use my *********** card to pay the remaining balance and was told I can't do that because if I wanted to use ********** for the remaining balance I would've had to do that within 60 days of getting the work done mind you I didn't even know I owed anything more until after 60 days of getting the work done they were certain things I should've got a discount for an Aspen refuses to give me the discount for it. They are scam artists. I want a resolution for this. If not I will be getting an attorney.

@my first appointment they were really nice until after they received my cash money. I was in for a partial that came out real wrong. They injured my gums trying to forced them in. I kept telling them it was very painful and they replied by saying it was like wearing a new pair of shoes 🤦🏻‍♀️They kept changing my appointment over and over again and unfortunately I'm still waiting. No one hardly ever answers the phone and when they do they put u on hold. Absolutely horrible service. Never ever again . I will never recommend anyone to go to aspen dental in Waterford lakes

This pertains to the Aspen Dental on Cypress Gardens Blvd. in Winter Haven, FL. I was recently there to have a very simple repair made to my upper denture. One tooth had come loose. The denture was fine, and the tooth fit perfectly into the slot from which it had come loose. I had the exact same repair made on another tooth back in Michigan before I moved to Florida five years ago. The dentist in Michigan, who I had not previously visited, made the repair for nothing, saying it was a very simple repair. Aspen in Winter Haven charged me $119. I did have them make the repair and objected to the charge. I should have found another dentist but didn't know how long that might take, and didn't want to walk around missing a tooth. I did file a complaint with Aspen and was contacted by email by Natalie Knox, who is presumably with Aspen's corporate office. She was very nice, and did intervene on my behalf. However, the Aspen office that made the repair refused to adjust their charge. Also, when they mde the repair, they left a small amount of adhesive - whatever it is they use - on the upper surface of the denture which is now very annoying when my tongue crosses that spot, which is unavoidable. They made no offer to fix it, and still would not adust the charge. I will now have to use some kind of fine sandpaper to fix it. I feel some kind refund should be made. I will not ever go back to that office and recommend that others also avoid it. I am very sorry to have to make this complaint, but felt it was necessary and fully justified. Thanks to the BBB.

I heard from the Winter Haven Aspen Dental office. The lady that called said they had to make two teeth to make the repair.
I disputed that but she disregarded what I told her. The repair is as described in my initial complaint.ONE tooth came loose.
The denture was perfectly fine. So was the tooth. And it fit perfectly into the slot from which it had come loose. The Aspen
lady saying they had to make two teeth makes absolutely no sense. I see that Aspen offices are individually owned, so it's
likley that service and charges may vary office to office. I will not go back to any Aspen office. They not only overcharge,
they then justify the charge with claims that are not true.
