      I signed up with Brightway Insurance because they quoted me the best price for bundling my car and home. I regretted it within a few weeks. I got a letter of intended cancellation from the insurance carrier because of errors in documentation. I contacted Brightway and reviewed the errors. The agent argued with me that the paperwork on their end is correct even though the paperwork I have is wrong. A few months later I got another notice from the Brightway saying there was more information needed. It was followed with a notice of cancellation from the carrier. I called Brightway and they said they received the notice over **************************************************Anytime I asked questions, who ever I talked to would tell me what they wanted to tell me, ignore my questions, and talk in circles. Then they would take me off on tangents to avoid resolving the policy issues.I rode out the year and went with another insurance company for the home policy, but I left the auto policy with them since it didn't expire yet. When the renewal came, there was a significant increase in premium. I called Brightway to discuss, the agent got my info and said "an agent will call me back". I called back multiple times with the same response. When I finally got an agent, she started talking about lawyers, getting sued, and then hung up on me. STAY AWAY!

      We are very sorry for the delay in responding to this review. We have reviewed the situation and can provide the following timeline. It is important to note that Brightway is an insurance agency, not an insurance underwriting carrier. Brightway does not control the premium or prices of the insurance they sell. Brightway agents do their very best to consult with clients to find the right policy possible. Insurance rates across the company and especially in ** have continued to rise.8/7/2020-UW Memo advising We have received and reviewed a standard property inspection of this risk. Swimming pools must be completely protected by a locking fence at least four feet high or by a screened enclosure. Please provide color photos showing the required protection has been installed. Essentially, the client needed to provide proof of fencing to the underwriting carrier in order to keep their policy active. 9/4/2020- Client received a final notice from the underwriting carrier, for the above reason 9/18/20-Client received an additional memo advising of a future Non-Renewal (**) date We have reviewed a standard property inspection of this risk. This policy has been set up for non-renewal due to the following Underwriting concerns: Fails to meet Underwriting Guidelines: Unfenced pool. Non-Renewal Date: 07/31/20219/22/20-Client called in about the ** and was informed that the carrier needs proof of fenced in pool. Call Notes: insured adv he will get pool fence and send proof9/23/20- Brightway made outbound call Called carrier to advised the process of the fence with client's pool will initiate immediately and spoke to carrier from underwriting company and received ok per her. Note was made with underwriting carrier.4/12/21-Brightway sent email to client advising of ** effective 7/31/21, advising that carrier needs proof of fenced pool.4/12/21- client sent email to ************* advising that he tried to call and there was long hold times, and he requests that someone call him back.4/13/24-Brightway tried to call him back and it was sent to vm. Sent follow up email advising of the missed call. 6/14/21-Client emailed service and advised that he signed a contract to perform the work needed. Service responded and stated they called underwriting carrier to inform them of these updates. ******* confirmed that they will lift ** if everything is submitted before 7/30/21 7/13/21-Brightway agency put a noted that the policy has been renewed w/ no lapse in coverage 7/23/21-Client had questions about premium, call was transferred to the Brightway agency 6/10/22- Client wanted Brightway to find a different homeowners policy for less and agency was not able to do so.6/20/22-Client cancelled his homeowners policy, due to obtaining coverage elsewhere. But kept auto policy with Brightway.1/11/24-Client was interested in finding new auto insurance given the increase in his premium. Agency informed client that it was not able to find a better rate. Client was very angry. And Agency felt the client unloaded his anger on the Agency.4/25/24-Brightway called underwriting carrier about the auto policy and was informed that Brightway was no longer the agency on record - the client was with another agency.Brightway helped insured keep his homeowners policy and was able to obtain additional time for the client to fufill their obligation to have a fence as part of their homeowners policy. Client was later unhappy with increased prices for both their home and auto policy which is common in today's market. Brightway tried to find different policies as replacements but could not.
