I have pursued hunting and **** shooting for 75 years dealing with numerous persons and entities in that business, and never have I encountered a worse experience than my recent dealings with **** Fine Guns and Gunsmithing. Take my word for it. I have served as a ******* lawyer, Senator and Circuit Judge and I have never given better advice and warnings then this: Buyer Beware! They ordered the gun I traded for and received the wrong gun causing me to waste a whole day driving to and from their location. Then after telling me that we had a deal with me trading my 3 guns for the one I ordered they tried to change the deal after they sold my guns for $10,800. They said they wanted a couple of thousand more for the gun I wanted which had a MSRP in the mid-$8,000 range. I could go on and on. Now they will contend that I "bullied and threaten" them. I did tell them there would be consequences, but this was only after I caught them with their "hands in the cookie jar." There must be consequences for such business practices or they will continue and others will be hurt. Stay away from **** Fine Guns and Gunsmithing!

Cole Fine Guns and Gunsmithing Response

After 40 years in business, we've experienced unhappy customers and a bad review from time to time. Our #1 priority is customer service. It is always troubling to us when a customer is unhappy, and as weve done with you, we always reach out to the customer with the hope of an amicable outcome. Luckily, we are almost always able to resolve things by talking it through when expectations are reasonable and people are respectful. Unfortunately, this review grossly misrepresents the facts pertinent to our business dealings and so I feel I have no choice but to provide the details. I've spoken with my staff at length in an effort to fully understand the sequence of events. I'm not sure if you are merely confused and did not understand the financial piece of things when our agreement switched from consignment to trade, or if you are simply so unhappy that we were unwilling to meet your demands that you are now just consumed with exercising vengeance. When my staff brought the matter to my attention, I attempted to reach out to you; I apologized for any misunderstanding and for our part in the inconvenience of the incorrect gun arriving. My attempts were met with only more threats of 'consequences' and more unreasonable demands of a better offer etc. At no time did we 'try to change the deal' or have our 'hand in the cookie jar'. I'm not sure what that means, but I suppose it adds a little zest to the bad review when one slings that sort of insult. The fact is, we have lost money on our transactions with you overall and certainly a lot of time spent managing the fallout.
Here are the facts, for anyone interested in the rest of the story. In June 2023 you brought us several guns to sell on consignment. We sold 3 fairly quickly, you were paid for them. However, as you know, 3 more stayed on the shelves because you originally hoped to sell them at a price slightly above what the market would allow. Our usual policy is to try to get the highest price, what the client wants, however after a short time we try to make adjustments. After several months of trying to sell them, we agreed to take them in trade for a gun you wished to order. The trade amount offered would, of course, be lower than the consigned amount, a new amount was negotiated as it costs us money to carry inventory until we sell it. Taking a trade is a convenience to the customer, a liability to the business. A lengthy email thread confirms the details of this agreement; all seemed well  until the new gun arrived and was incorrect. I do understand it was upsetting to you, our staff worked with the manufacturer to o rain the correct gun. We do all we can to attend to these situations in the correct manner. When the correct gun arrived and we sent the invoice for the balance, the difference between the trade value and the new gun, it seems that is when you decided that concessions were in order and began making demands of discounts and free labor etc., demands we could not meet. We did not suddenly 'want a couple thousand more'. The balance, of $1728 was,the difference between the trade value and the new gun price including sales tax. We can't do anything about the ******* sales tax. Given the inconvenience to you of the incorrect gun arriving, if you had decided to cancel the order at that time we would have understood. When I reached out to you, had you been reasonable I'm I had hoped we could come to a resolution.

You have been paid in full, the original agreed- upon amount as though we sold the guns for your original inflated price. We did not sell the guns for $10,800, in fact, we still have one gun here that has not yet been sold.
We have sold only two guns for a total of $8550 for which you've been paid $8640 in accordance with the original consignment (not trade) agreement if we had sold all three guns at the higher price. In order to satisfy and angry customer, sometimes we just agree to take the loss. Not only were you not satisfied, but we now bear the burden of being upside down on the gun. Im ok with that as I know didnt right thing and did all we could to rectify the situation. I don't think we can be any more fair than that. I understand that our perspectives are different and I am truly sorry we couldnt work through the issues.

What an incredible response! Full of misstatements of the facts and outright lies. You forget that I have 24+ years of lie detecting experience as a Judge and I have to tell you that not only are you a dangerous person to deal with in the gun and gunsmith business but also a pathetic lier. Among other things, I have and will continue spreading the word. Hopefully, it will hurt enough so that you will reform or get out of the business. I am confident it will.
