I purchased a Red 2011 Nissan that needed a new exhaust, had a few burnt-out headlights, and a small oil leak which Gina the owner agreed to fix at the time of purchase. We spent a long time with the car on jacks talking about the oil leak and exhaust as we specifically said that we would not purchase the truck if it required maintenance. They assured us that the truck's exhaust system, oil leak, and headlights would be fixed. After several weeks of calling asking for an update on when it would be ready to pick up, they had us pick it up the keys and truck after hours on a Friday. When we did so the truck's check engine light came on immediately and Auto Zone confirmed it was the same exhaust issue we had discussed with Gator Truck Center. The truck still had an oil leak and exhaust issues, and although the headlights now worked it caused the radio to not work. We returned the next day because I wanted to completely return the truck and cancel the contract. They refused to take back possession of the truck. Raul said that if we left the truck or keys at the dealership they would call the cops and a tow truck company at our expense. After filing a BBB complaint they agreed to cover the fee of taking the truck to a real mechanic. We spent 5 days getting quotes from different mechanics in Ocala. Both parties agreed to have the truck repaired at a Tee Pee Tire Budget Muffler. Tee Pee Tire did seem to fix the exhaust and Gator Truck Center paid for it, but pulling away from Tee Pee the check engine light came on now for brakes and power steering, the headlights are out, leak persistent, and the sound system not working. Gator Truck Center held the truck for weeks under the guise of being repaired I believe to deter me from rightfully returning the truck. We are unable to drive the truck and will be taking a huge financial loss trying to sell or trade in the truck for one that is safe to drive because of I believe predatory practices at Gator Truck Center.
