We bought a Trane Air Conditioning unit from Pro-Tech 1 1/2 years ago. Yesterday the motor ceased up and they sent a technician to look at the problem. He charged us $119 for taking out 4 screws from the Air Handler. Their office send us a bill for $882 for the motor and instalation. The technician that came to our house said that the motor is covered under the manufacturer's warranty, but not the instalation. It is incredible that they would not charge for the instalation which would take to unscrew the Air Handler and install the motor. Pro-tech should have given us a discount of $119 for taking the 4 screws on the Air Handler. Buyer Be Aware.

Alfonso ******, had an AC unit installed 03/15/2021, the AC unit came with 1 year labor warranty and 10 year part warranty. We received a call on 02/24/23, with a complaint that the ac unit was not working. We scheduled an appointment that was agreed upon both by the customer and by our current schedule to come out and perform a diagnostic for $119. We had a technician go there on 02/24/2023, and found that the blower motor had failed. Sadly, by the time the tech finished going over the unit the manufacturer was closed for the weekend. Monday morning 2/27/23, we contacted the manufacturer, and we were told that the part was 6-8 weeks out. Our office staff worked hard to find a part for the customer, so that we could get their unit up and running. After spending hours on the phone with different companies that sell the OEM blower motor, we found one and paid to have it expedited to us next day. We did inform the customer, and put them on the schedule for Tuesday afternoon (after the part came in) to have the blower motor changed. We did quote the customer $1622.88 to have the motor replaced. Since the motor itself is under warranty, we did remove the cost of the part $610.60. We also included a loyal customer discount of $129.34, with the remaining balance for the labor in replacing the motor. All was agreed upon before we even started looking for the part. We feel like we did everything in our power to take care of the customer and provide with with the best customer service. From answering the phone, scheduling the diagnostic the same day they called, to calling the manufacturer as soon as they opened to get availability of the part, to making hours worth of phone calls to locate the part sooner than the 6-8 weeks that was quoted to us by *****. We as a company really went the extra mile making sure their AC unit would be up and running in a timely manner. Which in the end, after the motor was installed the customer did call to thank us for our hard work and dedication in taking care of them.
