I have been a customer at ABC Bicycle for over 7 years, without a complaint. They have a new manager in the past 1.5-2 years. She appears to be an alcoholic, from visual appearance, and manner! There is likely marijuana use by staff, probably her, as is typical in many businesses in St. Petersburg. It's unfortunately a drug community, along with Tampa, one of Florida's few, with a lot of drug dealing, deaths from overdose, etc! Recently I had to replace tire tubes front and back twice, within 6 weeks. This has never occurred in decades of being an avid biker! The fourth time I complained of inferior tubing, the manager became hostile, and refused to service the tire. Thy would not even fill the tire with air. Their excuse was sand spurs! I do not bike near the beach, nor did I feel any spur the staff indicated on the tube. In prayer it was revealed the manager is buying heavily discounted tubes, which are inferior, using them to increase petty cash operational revenue! Their rudeness, disrespect, customer insult, was so severe have been instructed in prayer never to return there! Seeking another bike shop, I met a person who had recently had a similar experience, where they over charged him $40! I am not surprised they are not BBB accredited!

Mr. ********* has been a customer of ABC Bicycles for a long time. And we have appreciated his business for a long time. Our last two interactions with Mr. ********* were out of character for him. Flat tires happen and some customers will get flat tires more frequently than others. His increased frequency of flat tires were caused by punctures to the tube from external debris (i.e. glass, thorns, 'sand spurs'). He did not accept these answers even when presented with the thorn and the hole in the tube. We understand the frustration of flat tires and we accommodate our customers when products are deemed defective or replace as 'good will'. When a tube is flat from riding it, there is no guarantee. What came next was most surprising. Mr. *********'s reaction to the explanation was heated and aggressive. He stated that all tubes are made by 'drug addicts' and we were helping the addictions by selling their tubes. He then became more confrontational and stated that we were all on drugs and we were alcoholics. The conversation continued to get worse. He then insulted our manager (10 year tenure) and said she was a 'drug addict and alcoholic' and 'he could just 'tell by the way she looked and how she spoke.' We then decided that Mr. ********* was no longer a customer. Something was wrong with him and the best solution was for him to be escorted out of our store. We do not look for any resolution. We do not believe that he or the situation are healthy for our business.

ABC Bicycle"s response is dishonest, a prevarication. The Manager of the store is alcoholic, her staff are marijuana users! This reply is a psychological projection. As a educated, trained, psychologist, it is my professional experience to discern substance abuse disorders, which are easily visible in physical appearance. In tandem with behavior. An alcoholic remains alcoholic, even if dry, until they heal the cognitive/emotional/behavioral issues etiological to the disorder! The manager of ABC Bicycle demonstrates these characteristics, along with lying, which is a prominent trait of substance abuse, especially alcoholism.

Concerning the excuse for the tire puncture, staff indicated only that the flats were caused by "sand spurs!" When staff asked me to feel the tube where the alleged "sand spur" punctured the tire, there was no physical evidence to my touch that confirmed the statement. There was no physical, visible, evidence of the tire or tubing being punctured by glass, nail, or any projectile! I have traveled near the beach is over a year!

The tubing was replaced by another bike shop on Blind Pass Road, St.Pete Beach, within 2 weeks the same back tire was flat again, which accounts for 5 flat tires in approximately 6 weeks. I am not gullible, or a fool, I know when I am being conned, as occurred with both businesses, and will avoid both places.
