    When my mother passed away in the fall of 2023, I paid $7,000 to have Mom's ashes interned at Garden of Memories/Myrtle Hill in the same plot where my maternal grandmother had also been buried years earlier. A new dual headstone featuring both my mother's and grandmother's names was then to be created and placed on the grave. I was told that, due to supply issues with the granite used to make the headstones, there could be a 4-6 month delay in getting the marker created and placed. Six months later, I reached out to *************************** - my customer service contact at at Garden of Memories/Myrtle Hill  - asking for an update on the situation, and received a prompt email reply saying she would get back to me within 24-48 hours. Ten days later, when I had received no further response, I emailed again, but received no reply. One month after that, I emailed again, but still no reply. I also left **************** voicemail messages that were never returned. I then received a notice in the mail from the Gatestone collections agency saying that I owed an unpaid debt of $7,000 to Garden of Memories/Myrtle Hill. Upon calling Gatestone, I learned that the headstone that was initially ordered for Mom's grave was the wrong size and a new order had to be placed. But, before the money from the first purchase could be transferred to the second, Garden of Memories/Myrtle Hill needed to receive an official "cancellation letter" from me asking them to do this. OK, but WHY was I receiving this information from a collections agency rather than from Garden of Memories/Myrtle Hill directly? As someone who has lived 46 years of life with spotless credit, this was especially upsetting on top of the already upsetting delays and sending message upon message to both **************** and her manager, Andrea Winkler, with no response of any kind. Even now, with the situation seemingly resolved (thanks to Gatestone), no one from Myrtle Hill has reached out with any sort of apology.
