On Feb 1st I hired Ace handyman services to provide several services:
1. Install two fans
2. Install two toilets
3. Install chandelier in dining room
4. Install chandelier in foyer
After checking the fan installations, we noticed there was a delay in the light coming on after flipping the switch. We questioned it and he explained something regarding the fixture not being compatible with electrical already installed in the house. We were okay with what he said. He had an extremely difficult time installing both light fixtures. After numerous attempts (and me telling him I wanted the dining light installed (36 inches from the table) he finally got it installed about 60 inches from the table. There were numerous times he almost dropped the light and caught it on the ladder he was using. So, there are numerous scratches. We also had to call the company to ask for instructions on hanging and found he didn't have the right tools. He had the same troubles with the foyer lighting but finally got it installed. Although, I wasn't happy with the service I didn't complain because I felt we should have stopped him sooner. I finally called in an electrician, who explained the light needed to be removed, taken to be rewired, and then installed correctly. While he was installing the dining fixture, we asked him to look at the foyer lighting. After looking at the installation he said I'm so glad you asked me to look. This light was installed hanging from the wires, vs. hanging from the chain that it should have been hanging from. This could have fallen on someone. I'm not seeking compensation for the repair work. I believe that Ace Hardware should have sent a qualified person to install the light. Hanging from wires was very unsafe. Ace offered to send a more qualified person to repair the fans. I've been reluctant to have their workers in my home again. They have yet to address the fixture hanging by wire. Seeking refund for foyer light fixture.

This store is going to get a civil suit slapped on them if they are not careful. Judging by some of the other reviews, perhaps a class action as well. My daughter is an entertainer from ******* who has also been on films here and a popular television show. She has even met the governor of Georgia at the state capitol in congratulation with other well known entertainers for bringing commerce to the state. She is a top-notch individual who has never been in any trouble whatsoever. After a tour of Florida she had a show in ********. In the downtime before the show she and her bandmate entered this Ace looking for something for the tour van. My daughter was looking at some novelty magnet items that she decided not to buy and placed them back in the spot they belonged. As she was exiting the store an older male Ace employee chased her out approaching her in a hostile manner accusing her of stealing the magnets. My daughter emptied her pockets saying she did not take the magnets. She felt violated and threatened by this man. He said something sarcastic to her and went back in the store. Congratulations Berwick Ace Hardware, after several nation wide tours of every major city in ***************** and ******, this store and your unprofessional, belligerent employee are the only ones who made my daughter feel like a criminal. Shame on you! She will be back to play ******** and our family will surely vacation down there again as we often do. Your sorry excuse for a store WILL come up in every conversation about ******** from here on out as a low-class reprehensible establishment that deserves no patronage.

Good afternoon,I personally addressed Mr. ********* concerns and humbly asked for his assistance to narrow down which employee may have done this to his daughter considering it is against our values and expectations for our employees to do that. We typically focus on phenomenal customer service and the majority of our 523 reviews show that. I honestly wanted to fix the problem! Unfortunately ******************** had no interest and only wanted to smear our organization for a mistake someone may have made. When ******************** posted a picture of the owner on ****** as the person that accused his daughter he was not only wrong (since we were both in ******* that week), but he also crossed a line that allowed for ****** to remove the review. It is obvious that ******************** spends more time publicly shaming retailers and restaurants when they fall short of perfection. This absolutely could have been resolved with a short conversation as opposed to attacks.
