I bought a 1969 Camaro which they claimed it was a big mortar 565 coming to find out. There was a little issues of gas leaks in the carburetor. The mortar was leaking oil and did not get a title for the past four months I had to wait Because they made mistakes on providing the title so winter came by could not take the car out did not register it till this summer this summer I took the car out didnt sound too good my ***** said we should change the cam put a bigger cam and the carburetor in there so we said OK. We stripped the mortar. The mortar becomes a 502 instead of you my issue is that day said it was a 565 which is not true. They lied to me the owner the sales person theyre all hiding under the rock right now. I tried calling them many of times and they wont respond. they know theyre wrong for what theyre doing. Please see supporting documents. The customer is confused on a 502 vs 565. A 502CI Motor is Bored and Stroked to a 565CI. Based on our knowledge of this vehicle. This is what was done. Also, this customer was invited to our dealership to view vehicle and have inspected per his choice. We try to be as transparent as possible when selling Classic Cars that are ***** years old. We provided disclosures and options to ALL our customers and have them sign an acknowledgment as receipt for options that are given to them.

I bought a 1970 chevelle from MGM on 3/25/24. After negotiating the price. My sales *************** explain to me the cars are as is but they charge a $1131.00 recon fee that covers refurbishing the vehicle of anything needing repaired or replaced and the detailing. And that they also charge a second fee of $1332.00 for a vehicle inspection to make sure the vehicle is mechanically safe and street ready upon delivery to me. Vehicle was delivered on Friday 3/29/24 evening. I got to take it out the next day Saturday 3/30/24. Vehicle would not start up. After jumping it, I decided to drive to the local gas station. When I pulled into the gas station, which is 3 miles from my house, I noticed the back tire was tight up against the frame of the vehicle. Causing the tire to smell like burning rubber, wearing off the sidewall. Vehicle was also overheating running at 215. I Limp the vehicle back home immediately. Vehicle was running terribly. Both Rearview mirrors, wouldnt stay up while driving and fell down chipping the paint. I pulled the vehicle into my garage and noticed vehicle was leaking HEAVY power steering fluid. Oil drips both from rear differential. Went to check the oil the oil was jet black had never been changed. Along with multiple other issues But I dont have room to list them on here. Monday morning first thing 4/1/24 ***, the owner of MGM reached out to me for a review and I told him about all my issues with the vehicle and that the vehicle was delivered, broken down and not street ready . *** text me and said get the vehicle into a shop and he will assist me with repairs. After getting the vehicle into the shop and getting it back on 4/18/24. I sent invoice $1556.75 from mechanic to *** and ****. *** never got back to me once after repeatedly trying to get a hold of him. ****, the salesman gave me the runaround on every excuse in the book from *** being out of town multiple times to him being out sick, and then he disappeared and never answered me.Customer response

On January 18, 2024, I went to MGM classic cars to look at vehicle I saw on their website. I liked the vehicle and started proceedings to purchase it. I didn't have the down payment amount he was asking so I told him I'd be back in a couple of days. He (*************************) told me that in order for him to hold the vehicle I'd need to leave a five hundred (******) dollar DEPOSIT on the car so I did that. A day later I was showing the vehicle to a friend on MGM classic cars website and noticed the price of the car had been increased by about eight thousand (*****) dollars and then (*******************) began calling me and raising the down-payment amount and that's when I changed my mind about the vehicle and informed (*************************) that I wouldn't be able to come up with the money and would like to have my deposit back, he agreed and told me no problem that he'd take care of it. That is when I started getting the run around. I was never informed that the deposit was nonrefundable, had I known that I wouldn't have given the deposit.Business response

I was told I would have my work completed within 8/9 months. 7 months in covid hit. I am 16 months past the 16 months I have as a courtesy because of covid. *** has not talked to me since he took a massive deposit. Truly the man is a con artist and just recently contacted lawyers and he is a complete fraud. Please call me and I will give even more info.Business response

Bought this car back in January 2023. Put less than 100 miles on it. Nothing but issues. **** in repairs. They advertised these cars as EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD. This is certainly not true. I have proof and will provide.Initial Complaint

I purchased a car for $35,000.last year. However car was in storage for 5 months. Car had underling issues that were hidden. Rusted parts that were painted over. A local mechanic inspected the car and he said that this is an unsafe car. I have inspection report from local mechanic. I was told the engine was good, only an oil leak from a gasket. It turns out, 3 pistons are bad. I need a new engine. Contacted owner about fixing the issues, I got nothing except the run around. I was trying to contact owner for last 2 months. finally he blocked my phone number.Business response

This customer purchased a **** Chevrolet Bel Air from us on 06/23/2021. Since the transaction we have not heard from this customer till just recently. We did invite him to bring the vehicle to us so we can look at it even though this customer has had the car in his possession for over 16 months. MGM CLASSIC CARS is not aware of what he has done to the car personally since his time of purchase. At the time of the sale this customer was invited to bring his own mechanic and/or inspector of his choice. Whether he did that or not that was his choice at the time. This customer proceeded with this sale acknowledging the vehicles condition and agreed upon pricing based on what he thought was fair. He signed that the vehicle was sold AS IS. Now we do understand not all our customers are the most informed and educated about cars that are ***** years old and everyones opinion of a used car is different.
Again, here at MGM CLASSIC CARS we pride ourselves on transparency and do business in a straight forward manner.

Dear BBB,I am writing to you to create awareness of dishonest business practices by MGM Classic Cars at ***********************************************. In June 2022, I purchased a **** Buick GS from MGM Classic Cars. MGM had two videos showing and describing the car, what to expect and what they were fixing prior to purchase/shipping. I paid approximately $40K for this car, expecting it to be as represented by this business. Specifically, the car was described as having a rebuilt motor in the last **** miles, a $12,000 new paint job without dings, no oil leaks and a list of fixes they were working on. Some of the fixes were the horn, speedometer, turn signals, passenger headlight, dome light etc. They also indicated the car would be serviced before shipping which means an oil change and a run through of the engine.When the car arrived, I started getting a bad feeling when the car would not start easily. Then after finally starting and the engine warmed up, the engine started knocking. The engine is shot- not a recently rebuilt engine. It also has a high idle and will not idle down.The valve training was very noisy (not getting oil) and when I pried the dip stick out (it was stuck), I found the oil to be discolored and gritty. Definitely no oil change occurred, and all the other promised fixes werent done either. This car leaks oil like crazy and the supposed $12K paint job is a farce as it does not look good and the paint still has dings in it. I have video and pictures showing the issues with the car.I wanted to create awareness of this deceptive advertising and seek help in resolution. By resolution I mean a return of the car to MGM and a full refund.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:The car was not delivered in the condition as promised from the business. This is an on-line business, their videos are describing and showing you the car that you are buying. By signing the waiver, I was expecting and agreeing to receive the car that was represented by the business and as depicted/described in their videos. I did not agree to purchase the misrepresented vehicle that was delivered to my driveway.

I am rejecting this response because:Once again - The car that came off of the trailer is not the car that was represented by the business. This site does not allow me to upload video - but I have video of the dealer's false representations of the condition of the car and the car in the condition that was then delivered to me. They do not match - the car was falsely represented and the promises of the dealership were not fulfilled. There are many, many issues that range from headlights that were supposed to be fixed per dealer's video (and were not) to an engine that does not run (knocking and banging). If I had wanted a fixer upper, I would have bought one. This car was supposed to be in promised condition for $40K. I paid the $40K and happily awaited my good running as advertised vehicle. I did not expect a pristine car, but I did expect it to be the car as represented (good shape, running vehicle). That is not what I received.

Went to them to try and finance a car. Put a 500 deposit down to hold the car while I tried to finance. Unfortunately the finance didnt go through. I asked for my deposit back and they kept saying we are going to take care of it and then I have been ignored. It has been almost 2 months now.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I was never verbally told that a deposit was non refundable. I got the paperwork after I already made the deposit.I do have a witness to verify that. And it doesnt say that on the paperwork. It says nothing about a non refundable deposit. Only no refunds. Which I thought was on the car if I was able to get it. Its kinda ridiculous that I paid 500 just to look at a car!!! And when one of the employees says over and over to me that they will take care of this refund and still havent received it yet.

Come on guys, this is getting ridiculous. Im just asking for my deposit back. By writing that in marker on the receipt just proves you are trying to cover it up

And like I said your proof looks shady, looks like you wrote on my receipt in marker. I also have a witness that was sitting next to me while your employee was explaining everything and he never said anything about no refunds!!!

I purchased an advertised frame off restored *************. When delivered the vehicle had bent axles,pitted wheels, damaged rear gears, steering that didnt work, a bent frame and nothing electrical working. The car was represented as restored. Setting an odometer to 500 and representing a vehicle as frame off restored was not what I received. I attempted to contact the company, MGM several times to reach an amicable solution. No response. The photos I was sent showing the restoration were clearly stock photos of a similar vehicle.Business response

Purchased a camaro from MGM/tristate auto on or about may 3 2022. Was told all gauges work, runs strong and fast, no leaks, a/c would be fixed prior to shipping and there was no issues with the car. The price we agreed on was *********. Upon receiving car and driving , brake booster is bad, basically has no brakes , the pinion seal is leaking rear end fluid, the u joints are bad as it vibrates pretty bad when you let off the gas, it cuts off at stop lights, they said it was a fresh oil change and the oil is black , the radiator cap leaks, right front tire leaking around rim, may need a wheel as it wont hold air for more than a day , and the a/c does not work . I notified **** and he said he would get back to me the first of the week that has just passed. They should have disclosed all thses issues as well as fixed the things they said or I would have negotiated for a lesser price or not bought at all. Im willing to accept 5k to repair the issues they said were fine or they can refund my money and take the car back as I was not informed I was buying a project that needed workBusiness response
