    We hired KT Carpentry ******************************, IN to complete a bathroom remodel for us. ***** was good at communicating with us via text, phone, or email-better than many-she always got back to us. ****** assured me that she was very detail oriented. Here are the problems we had: Way off when estimating-went approximately 50% over estimate on construction supplies, even though we ourselves bought the tile, grout, fixtures, lights, shower pan, cabinets and more. Also went over estimated labor budget by 40%. This was without running into major surprises or issues that would change the scope of the project.Tile in shower- not flush. Used 50% more tile than square footage called for due to errors in cutting/laying tile. Everywhere I look/everyone I ask says it should only take abt 20%.Left big gaps when cutting drywall that had to be patched. Looks ok now, but more likely to crack. Did a poor job patching around light switch.Trim work left with rough cuts/ uneven, then just painted over. Also left big gaps when cutting trim, and didnt do angle cuts properly. Amateurish-wish I could share my pictures.Didnt properly protect my floor when they set up wet saw in the bedroom, and caused extreme warping of the floor. Said they would fix it like it never happened for no charge. What was a finished tongue-in-groove floor has been put back down, but they broke many of the tongues and grooves, and left gaps, and replacement pieces in one area that dont match color. Also did not restore to original finish-only rough sanded, then coated with 1coat of *********** even though they said they were going to use polyurethane as was previously on the floor.Overall they tried to fix things when we brought up issues, but the final results just dont look professional. We will have to finish the floor ourselves, or pay someone else to do it. According to KTs website, they apparently also sometimes flip houses, and I feel that *** be a better fit for them.

    We apologize that your experience wasn't as good as the rest of our clients. We did warn you in the beginning that the material estimate was just for the basics, and that we would provide reciepts for things that came up after tearing down walls. Which, we did provide weekly. As we told you before, we do that to save our clients money, instead of over charging to cover unforseen things that are bound to pop up on a remodel like that. I will admit that I was training people during your job, and the things that didn't go right when training, we're fixed by me every time. And any concerns that were brought up, were always fixed. We also gave about $1,000.00 dollars in free labor to fix the floor in the next room, and to try and keep you happy. We have dozens of 5 star reviews across all our websites and this is my first bad one in 7 years in business. I can assure you, this is not a skill issue, ot something my other clients deal with. I have plenty of references to vouch for that. I apologize that your job had some unforseen issues, but I do have pictures to prove that the bathroom came out beautiful, aside from a couple tiles that weren't as level as I wanted. Which I would have been more than happy to fix for you. I tried my best to keep you happy and I truly am sorry I couldn't make that happen. The mix between unforseen issues and training people definitely didn't make the job go perfectly, and we apologize for that. Our only goal with our clients is to keep them as happy as possible, and it crushed us that even after fixing the issues, we still couldn't do that.
