So my insurance began a new policy (well care medicaid) recently where they cover a full set of dentures each year. I've had problems with my teeth for years and have been wanting to have my teeth removed so that I could get dentures, so I took advantage of this. So in my area where I live, there are VERY few dentists/oral surgeons who accept well care. After many months of trying and searching for a dentist who would accept my insurance to make the dentures, I found one in ft. Wright Kentucky, called Tri State Dental Care. It took months to get an appointment but I finally did and they made the mold for my dentures. It took months to receive the dentures, and then I had to schedule surgery an hour away in ********** which took another few months. I got my surgery and teeth removed, then the dentures that were made were made wrong and don't even fit my mouth. I brought this to the dentists who made the dentures, and now they're trying to give me the run around and not fix my dentures. These were supposed to be immediate dentures, that could be put in immediately after surgery to where I wouldn't have to go without teeth at all. I've now been a month without being able to use my teeth and it has caused many problems in my life including depression. I'm at a loss right now because I don't have thousands of dollars to pay out of pocket to go elsewhere. I feel like at this point this dentists office is just trying to get money and not do the work they promise to do. Now they're saying they have to get more from my medicaid to be able to fix my dentures to be wearable, which was NOT how this was supposed to be. They've already been paid from my insurance for these dentures, which they didn't make correctly. I don't know what else to do at this point cause this is not right.Business response

Like we explained to you before, the dentures that you brought to us had material added to them on the inside of the dentures. You said that you got that material added by your oral surgeon on the day you had your teeth extracted. However, so many weeks later, the material hardened, and your gums and bone changed shape to where that material appear to impede the fit of your dentures. Moreover, like we said to you before, you have to go back to where you got that material placed in your dentures to remove it. Then, if you are still having difficulty, you can come back to us to see if you need to get a reline done which may be needed because your gum and bone might have changed in shape after your teeth got extracted. Hope you find this explanation helpful to better understand the situation that you are in.
