I signed a contract with FDL on October 6th. FDL said if I would give them ***** dollars, they would start on my house sooner. It has been almost 4 months and they have not started on my house. I called FDL, they said they would be out before Christmas. FDL came by for me to pick a color for the shingles. Today is 1/26/2022. My bedroom has half of the ceiling out, rats are running on the rafters at night. The nights are getting very cold in my bedroom with freezing temperatures. The heat is all going out the ceiling.I feel like FDL has taken advantage of me.
FDL came by yesterday 2/21/22 to drop off paperwork. FDL said they were going to start working on my roof. They wanted money for materials before they started. I have already paid FDL ****** dollars on October 6, 2021, when I signed the contract. That was almost 5 months ago. I told FDL I wasn't giving them more money. He told me if I get another contractor I would lose my money. The way I see it, I have already lost my money. I live on social security and I do not have the money for a lawyer
What am I supposed to do?
I finally received the contract by mail that I asked for. FDL took about eight thousand dollars of my money. I was charged thousands of dollars for 29 feet of temporary wood fence. The posts were not even cemented. Thousands of dollars for a tarp. Please don't trust this company!!
