I would avoid doing business with this shady company. I asked for a quote to repair some storm damage. It was maybe a 16 section of aluminum covering that blew off from the rake of the roof. *****, their sales guy, never came out to look at the damage, he only looked at a picture I had sent him. When I asked about an estimate, ***** told me he would email it right over. The total amount given on what they called a T&M Repair (time plus materials) was for $199. Along with it, they wanted a signed authorization form and credit card info to be kept on file. I sent the required documents, which I regret. The morning they were to finally come do the repairs, I was sent an email at 6:14 am and told the guys would be there around 8am and that they knew exactly what they had to do and were all set. To me, the email sounded more like a dont bother them, they know what theyre doing. Nobody ever came to my door to discuss anything with me or go over any possible overages. The guys arrived at 8:45am and left at 9:54am, so they were there about an hour and 15 minutes. I know this for a fact because I have them on camera both arriving and leaving. When I finally got the statement, which they automatically charged to my card on file, it was for nearly $800. They automatically charged me $800 for an hour of work on a quote that was $200. When I reached out to ***** I was given a bunch of excuses and claims that hes done several similar jobs in my new neighborhood without there being an issue. I know thats a lie because theres 17 houses in my neighborhood, I know every single person, and the one house that had the same damage did not even use REI. I dont know how a company that operates like this can stay in business. I would STRONGLY AVOID doing ANY KIND of business with REI Roofing, which is now located in ********. I have at least learned a valuable ******* next time a company wants a credit card on file or payment up front, they wont be getting my business.

There were a couple of unintentional errors that unfortunately, we did make with this customer. The initial mistake was in sending our repair contract agreement without providing the rates for our Zone/Trip Fee to go along with our Time and Material Rates. Although these 2 sections are described in detail in the contents of the repair agreement, we did fail to specify these rates. Secondly, a key punch error made by us while performing the invoicing of this repair led to the incorrect billing. The billing error occurred just before 6 pm this past Monday (11/29). The customer notified us within a few hours while we were closed. Before 7 am the following morning (11/30), we emailed an apology for the billing error and provided a detailed explanation of the charges for the work we performed on the 29th. Also, due to how early it was in the morning on our response, we offered the customer to call us directly at any time to discuss. They called us by 9 am and after 10 minutes of talking through things from their perspective, we agreed to charge the customer for what they believed, and what we initially printed. They were credited for these errors the same day. REI accepts full responsibility for these errors. It never has, nor will it ever be, our intent to mislead anyone. It is our sincere hope that we rectified these errors in a timely and fair manner.
