OHara Motors in ********, ************* was unprofessional and dishonest in their business dealings with me. Though I live in *****, I had to search far and wide for a suitable truck because the microchip shortage made new vehicles unavailable and the selling price of used vehicles was steadily rising. I liked a truck I saw advertised by OHara Motors in ********, ************* so I put a down payment on it. Three days later I saw it was still being advertised for sale, and at a lower price. I called and emailed OHara Motors to remind them they had accepted my down payment, that I had an approved loan for it with my bank and I intended to purchase it at the newly advertised lower price. OHara Motors contended their continued advertisement of that vehicle for sale after I put a deposit on it was a mistake because their advertising office was not aware of the down payment. I accepted their explanation but recognized it as unprofessional business activity. I told OHara Motors that my bank asked if OHara Motors would accept drafting instructions for titling the truck in ***** instead of *************, and then send the purchase order to my bank, listing them as the lien holder. OHara Motors agreed to these requests. A few days later I talked with OHara Motors about having a certified mechanic check out the truck and my loan officer ******* to me she had also talked to OHara Motors and everything was on track. She told me OHara Motors was working on the ***** title and would be sending the purchase order right away. With that assurance, I made flight, hotel and rental car reservations to go to OHara Motors in ********, *************. After making the reservations I called OHara Motors to notify them I was coming but was shocked to hear the dealership decided it was too difficult to Title the vehicle in ***** so they sold it out from under me despite my down payment. Had they called me I would have conceded the ***** title was not was not a deal breaker. I wanted that truck. OHara Motors backing of our deal which was bound by my down payment and their word without discussion was unprofessional and dishonest.
