I have never dealt with a worse organization than NABSD. First, every year, they force all of the freshmen to purchase textbooks for hundreds of dollars. At the end of the year, they encourage those same people to donate those textbooks back to them. The next year, they use those donated textbooks to sell to the next set of freshmen. They force the freshmen to purchase the books instead of allowing the previous freshmen to pass their old books down to the incoming freshmen. Most years, the editions of the books are the same so it makes no sense to charge every freshmen every year. Second, they charge every student $80.00 per month for laundry services regardless of if one uses this service. Even if a student never uses their laundry services, they are charged $80.00 per month. Once, I received my laundry bag back from them to find out that they had torn the bag and lost the clip that closes the bag. I emailed them asking if they could replace it because they had lost it and torn it but they replied that I should purchase a new bag. That is to purchase a bag that only they sell from the store that they own and operate. I finally bothered them enough times so that they gave me a clip but my bag is still ripped and needs to be replaced. It's a total racket. Third, I was charged $55.00 for textbooks in the middle of the semester and when I asked why I was charged, they legitimately did not know. They told me to return in two weeks in order to find out more information. What business charges someone and cannot answer why they were charged and what for they were charged, This is the second time something like this has happened to me. They wrongly charge me hoping that I will give up and not bother fighting for my money.
