my husband hasn’t used his bike since the chain was off the track. Last week, he took the bike to BAYNESVILLE BICYCLE SERVICE to put the chain back because he didn’t have the tools to do so. They said they could and do the basic tune-up which they said would cost $89. Okay, it was kinda high but whatever. Lady asked him to change the chain which would cost $25 plus $15 labor. He said no and he was good with the old chains. So, they agreed to fix the bike by just putting the old chain back without a new chain for $89. He came back two days later and SURPRISED!!!! his bill was $171.68. They said they had to put in a new shifter and decided to put in a new chain. They did not call or ask my husband if he was okay with the price or any update on the parts that needed to be replaced. All they said were, “We’re sorry, too busy.” He said this is double the price and the lady was like “Well you can leave it here till you can pay for it.” Not to mention he called the day before to ask about the bike and all she said was,” It’s not done yet.” Did not mention anything about the shifters and new chains. Her excuse was “ We didn’t have time to look at it until today.” My husband did not agree to pay and asked for his bike back and whatever they put on can come off. They started yelling and asked him to leave their premise. They said he could not come back to get the bike until July 23. Today July 24, my husband and I came back together for the bike. they refused to return the bike. they said it belonged to them and asked us to leave the premises. We decided not to leave the premises because our property was there too. (the bike was a special gift and we could not lose it) Police was called and the shop owner pulled out the victim's card. After a lengthy conversation, we agreed to pay $125 cash to get the bike back. A business running by ******** its customers like this will not last long. I wish no one had to deal with the same situation as we did.
