On November 28th, I had called Adley's to see if I could get an appointment for my car. I explained to to receptionist on the phone that my wheels were making a terrible grinding sound. I told her that the breaks weren't squishy, but the grinding seemed problematic. She gave me an appointment two weeks away, on December 11th. When I dropped the car off, I explained that I wanted an ESTIMATE before anything was done to it, since it was Christmas time, and heating oil season, so I could budget in repairs. She understood, and wrote that down on the repair slip. The next day, December 12th, she called and told me that the car was ready. I went in to pick it up, and to see what I was looking at repair wise. She informed me that he FIXED the breaks/rotors/pads on all four tires and that I now owed $861.17 for it. I told her that I had only wanted an ESTIMATE of what needed to be done, as I absolutely could not afford this bill at this time. She said that the owner, **** Adley, told her that he couldn't ************** in the condition it was in. I let her know that I DIDN'T GIVE HIM PERMISSION to work on the vehicle, all I wanted was an ESTIMATE. I was very displeased by this, but worked out a payment plan to settle my bill. The very last day I went in with my payment, she told me that he had just recently done the same thing to another customer. This isn't right at all, and should not be permitted to keep happening. Asking for an estimate should be all that is done, regardless of his thoughts, until the customer decides that they want to go forward with the repairs. I am absolutely displeased with this business, and warn others now from bringing their vehicles to him.
