Original Date of transaction: 6/15/2023 Last Contact:08/11/2023 Amount: $2015 Nature of Dispute: We purchased an extended Warranty from **** Protect and paid in full $2015. When we decided to cancel the contract we were continually told that the policy was not paid in full and we were referred to "Budco". At no time were we told we were dealing with any company other than ****. We subsequently received a check from Budco Financial. We did not cash it as our credit card company had already refunded the amount.Called Budco Financial as I was concerned about why we were dealing with Budco when we called ****. Budco Representative "Jaqui" kept telling it was because we were financing the contract. We paid the contract in full. When I tried to express my concerns about doing business with a company I never heard of , ***** just kept repeating the same line and hung up on me.Business response

Thank you for your inquiry. After reviewing the recorded phone interaction that you had with ******, I will shed some light on what happened in this instance. I also want to apologize for the experience; we expect a high level of professionalism that was lacking from Jacqui in this conversation.
First, Budco Financial is ********** Company's premier financing company for ***************************** plans. When you purchase over the phone with **** Protect, down-payment or full payment transactions go through Budco Financial. In full payment situations such as yours, Budco Financial is invisible unless a cancellation occurs. When your contract was cancelled by ****, that prompted Budco Financial to send you back a full refund - however, you did a chargeback (or credit card dispute) which we were notified of by the credit card company and we voided the check that was mailed to you.
As you requested, I've removed your email address/phone number and address from our system - the account is closed and your data is secure. When **** administration transfers the customer, they may or may not disclose who we are, but they understand that we'd handle the refund in certain cases. Finally, we will coach ****** on how to properly handle these inquiries and again our apologies for the inconvenience this caused.
