We were looking for a reputable snow removal service and saw Scott Didrickson repeatedly on TV. Called and they came out, gave us an estimate of $600. We agreed andmen were at our house within the day. They only did 1/3 the roof and came back the next day. Finished in about 3 hours. Scott presented us with a bill of $1680, said it was more than expected 21 man hours @ $80 per hour. We made out the check and before giving it to him I noticed one of the workers loading our new shovel into the back of a truck. After confronting Scott he told us they broke it. We didn't give permission to use it! He then said he'd pay us for it. This left us without no shovel if we needed one. After 2 weeks we confronted him saying you took it, you just don't break and take, you show the damage to the homeowner and leave it. By then it was gone and as far as we know it may not have been broken at all. Said he would return it. Called after a week and haven't seen it since. Sent us a check for a new shovel which we had to go out of our way to find a replacement of equal quality. His workers left water bottles and cigarette butts on the roof and ground. Sloppy work and we wouldn't recommend his company for any roof work. After confrontation there were a lot of quote discrepencies and nothing in writing.

We were clear on our prices, and this customer was aware that their roof was going to take ** longer than we originally anticipated.Yes, we accidentally broke their shovel. We refunded them $80 which is about twice the value of the shovel we broke. We apologized for the inconvenience. They called multiple times complaining that their broken shovel was not returned to them, but it was disposed of along with a few of our own **************. In our line of work, shovels break frequently. We had record breaking snow fall this year, and we went through a lot of shovels. It happens. We don't usually make the mistake of using the customer's shovel, but as human beings, we aren't perfect. We have apologized and compensated them for their loss.
