My 88 yo mother was on floor 6 room 1609 & 1601 last week for what turned out to be a very bad UTI. ******/****** on this floor were horrific to her. Mom tells her I want to go home, she says "you will go home when I tell you to go home"!! Mom scoots down to the end of the bed. ****** comes scoots her back up forcibly, and said "now don't you move again"!! At the end of ******** shift she did not come back to mom's room and say how her day went, kiss my but, or anything???Mom asked me every day can I please leave today (so sad)??? The night before she was going to be released I brought her clothes so she would have something warm to wear. The nurse told mom no I'm not changing you, you can wear the gown you don't need clothes on!!!I really hope these people die before they get old so they won't be treated like my mother was treated!!!***** *******Review from Lawanna M

If I could give nothing I would. If I could give negative 0 i would. Not only have I witnessed others getting treated badly due to mental health while working there. I went out for health reasons myself. First you fill out matrix to keep your job safe to get through the process they ask when will you return. Who knows that answer except for the doctors. But i put in a date to get through the process. In the notes at the end I explained why I put that date. And explained I'm seeing 3 different doctors 2 Of them was doctors at the same hospital. Gave names, number, my chart notes. Somehow after over a month, that was suppose to be a 7 to 10 business day process it was denied not enough information. What did you need from me I gave access to my doctors that work for the company. Was I suppose to do do there job as well. Then was fired because I didn't return on the date that I put but wasn't over the short term disability days. And also you forced me to give a date. The doctors are suppose to release you. BY LAW!!Cone Health Response

Cone is totally unresponsive to a billing mistake. I have been in touch with Cone Health about a payment that was made to them on 1/30/24. The Billing agent, ***************, said that the payment had not been received. I've sent bank documents supporting the payment and while I have again spoken to ****************, I continue to receive bills that don't reflect the payment. When I call the ****************** now, the call continues to be flipped to hold. After 15", the hold recording stops and eventually, the call is disconnected. I'm sure my phone number is visible but the ****************** does not want to address the issue. I was on hold this time for 25 minutes when the call was disconnected. I have left a message for the Complaint and *********************Cone Health Response

I visited the Urgent Care in Burlington on 3/5/23. I paid my urgent care co-payment then received a bill in the mail for additional money. When I spoke to Cone Billing and to my insurance, while Cone may have billed it appropriately as an Urgent Care visit, the doctor code was not an urgent care doctor, but instead a specialist. My insurance said they needed to fix the doctor code so it would be submitted as an urgent care visit rather than specialist visit. After going back and forth with Cone for 2 months, I was waiting for them to do a 2nd review and awaiting the results. Without receiving any communication from them, I got a bill that said it not paid immediately, it would go to collections. I figured I would pay it to avoid that and get reimbursed later. However, when I logged on, it showed a $0 balance. I inquired about this and was eventually told the bill was sent to collections on 7/13/23 and the review was COMPLETED 7/14/23. So they sent my bill to collections BEFORE the review was finished. Additionally, I did not get this final bill until the week of 7/17, which was AFTER it was sent to collections. This appears fraudulent on some level and I want to let others know of these shady billing practices. I am currently working on switching all our doctors to the Wake Med/Atrium practices because I can't bear to work with Cone anymore.Review from Jessica B

I was seen at Cone Health Med Center for Women; 930 Third St, Greensboro - 2nd floor ultrasound. You would think a place that is dedicated to women’s health would be more accommodating to Women and women with children. They are very discriminatory towards women with children. I had an ultrasound scheduled this morning and I got there to check in; the lady at the desk said I couldn’t be seen because my kids were there. I asked why not? She said because they aren’t 13 and there was no one with me to watch them. She kept saying that it was noted in the MyChart directions and I even showed her it was not. Nor was it posted anywhere in the building. She then claimed it said it in the reminder call but I’m not sure it did. They then got a manager who continued to argue that I can’t be seen because my 7 and 9 year old were there…first trying to say it was a liability for them to sit in the lobby. So I said they can sit in the room with me to which she said they can’t be in there with the equipment. So I said they aren’t toddlers who will touch everything. She continued to argue so I went to leave and then was offered somewhere for my children to sit. So I went back upstairs and they checked me in with rolled eyes. I was taken back and then a director wanted to come spew the same things as the above manager that I already disagreed with. This “policy” is quite discriminatory to women with young children and very poor practice; seems to me like it was created during the pandemic and they don’t want to let it go out of a perceived convenience to them of not having children present.Cone Health Response

The emergency services is completely awful. It should NOT take 12 hours at least to see a single mother about an issue that it only takes 1 hr at my primary care physicians office. I only came here bc my primary care doctor asked me to and got here around 2:30pm. I'm currently sitting in the waiting room where they have only taken my vitals. There's no way that they can't see each one of these patients in the waiting room within a 12 hr period. They hardly even called anyone back there. I don't like coming here to begin with But the lack of care and attention for patients here is absolutely incompetent.Cone Health Response

We sincerely apologize for this experience, as it is not ideal for anyone to wait that long when seeking care. Many factors play into the reason for such long waits. Cone Health is working on many ventures to improve our overall strategies to improve to reduce our emergency department wait times. Cone Health also offers many additional options that can prevent coming to the emergency department, such as Urgent Care and virtual care. Understanding that your provider sent you to the emergency department, we evaluate all patients on arrival equally based on severity scale and resources. We work diligently to screen and provide care to all that come to our emergency department. We apologize for this experience and will continue to ensure we are right with you when you come to our organization.Review from Benetter D

I went into the ER with my youngest son and waited for 6 hours and no one came out to make sure any of the kids were ok. They stop calling names for 2 hours talking about they were working short. Not professional at all.Review from dennis W

If I could give them a negative I would. I went in to the Mebane, NC Cone Health urgent care for issues with either prostate or kidney. I told them I was paying cash. I paid the $60 entry fee and then was seen by a PA or NP, not sure. After explaining what was going on, they took a urine sample and then decided to do a blood test. If they were doing a blood test I told them I want to know my PSA levels for the prostate since I had recently had a biopsy and need to keep an eye on the levels and what I was feeling was mostly prostate related. When I got home, I had an additional bill for $119 with no explanation as to what that was for. I assumed it was for the blood test so I paid it thinking that was only $20 more than what I pay in Arizona for a full blood test with everything checked. Then I got the blood test results and they did not do the PSA test. They then billed me for another $199 for the blood test. When I inquired, they stated that the test was actually over $400 and I got a 50% discount over what insurance would have paid, had I had insurance. So I spent all most $400 with nothing to show for it. No idea if what I'm feeling is due to prostate issues or not. After calling and explaining to the billing office, they sent my issue to some type of complaint department and they would be reaching out to me. No response. The billing department stated that I had 4 months to pay, or the bill will be sent to collection which would affect my credit score. When I called the urgent care office and talked to the PA or NP, and asked why they did not do the PSA test and then charge me almost $200, she stated that she would have a supervisor call. No call. I paid the $199, just so they would not ruin my 815 FICO credit score, but I want the world to know that this place is a RIP OFF. I have the financial means to deal with this incompetence and gouging, but others may not have the $400 to spend and then get nothing in return for it,............ other than the threat to ruin your credit. My name is ***** and my phone number ends in ****
