We own a property in *** *****. The bathroom downstairs had two or three reoccurring darkish spots on its ceiling at the same locations for the last one or two years even after several times of repairs. In May, we were engaging 5 Star Roofing and Restoring ( 5 star) to replace that portion of the roof with a new rubber roof. After looked at multiple times by their staff, I received the quote ( attached pdf). Then quickly we had decided to move forward with the project. On July 21st, 5 star was on site for the replacement work. On that day, I was in and out several times to check things out. There was nothing out of ordinary until around 3 pm afternoon, there was a very fast moving, heavy but short storm passed through our area. Suddenly, I noticed widely spread water leaks across the entire ceiling; floor was wet and water in the bucket. And then the middle portion of ceiling clasped. Please see the pics and video attached, with which you can see those light color spots were newly developed and darker spots were original ones. Immediately I reported the issue to the main contact at the 5 star. Next morning 5 star' owners, Shannon ***** and Eddie ***** came to check. However, they strongly denied and said 5 star didn't nothing wrong but blamed the water was coming from the roof. After back and forth frustrating negotiations, 5 start finally agreed and repaired the ceiling on August 10th plus offered 3 month warranty, per Shannon's email dated on August 2nd. Unfortunately, on October 1st, the repaired ceiling dropped. ( pic attached). I reached back out to 5 star. Initially they were willing to fix next day. However, after a few attempts, 5 start was unable to put things back to the ceiling was, then Shannon started asking me to share the cost to finish the repair. I refused it as this was still under the warranty being promised. In the end, they dropped the ball completely. As of this filing today, Nov. 28th, the ceiling repair is still not being completed.
