ZERO STARS. Fell for the sales tactic hook line and sinker. My mother passed away and left me just enough that I broken window in my home was going to be able to be repaired. I shopped around, but got cornered into a today only offer. Windows are done, ********* forward to now,Im disabled and have repeatedly ad nauseum requested that we schedule the final walkthrough without a voice call. Its been months and they refuse. Flat out refuse. Insist on getting me on the phone and speaking with me, and never any resolutions, never gave me a datejust tell me a PARTNER company will contact me with complimentary necessary storm shutters that are required by code. The PARTNER COMPANY TRIES TO SELL ME THESE COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTERS!!!! so Ive stopped answering. Andersen charged me for and installed my windows. and neglected to mention NEW COSTS and continue to claim its complimentary. So they keep giving me a script, and I think they are hoping I opt in for some referral package that gets them a kickback. Thats the only thing that makes up for the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER and I mean EVER TO THE **** ever had. Its a runaround for an unnecessarily expensive product that they pretend is the only good window in existence. They are predators. I cant get away from them now. They call constantly but wont resolve my issue. Supposed start to finish white glove service is a FLAT OUT LIE. Im sure they will continue to lie and make up some retail jargon to dismiss me and victim blame. LISTEN TO ME. DO NOT USE THEM. DO NOT. DO NOT DO NOT.Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

Good afternoon, I was able to speak with our team and they have confirmed the cost of your impact protection has already been covered. The company that we work with for this protection is attempting to get in contact with you to discuss your schedule. I have been informed that they have not had the opportunity to speak with you up to this point and have only been able to leave you messages. We would be happy to work with you in getting your final inspection scheduled but the appointment with the impact protection company will have to be completed first so that everything meets code and will pass the inspection. If youd like, we can schedule a call with you to help facilitate having the impact protection delivered. Please let us know a time that would work for you.HaileyReview from Dee F

Please read the Renewal by Anderson reviews. We did not and regret it! Our story is not much different from some of the rest on here. Beginning with ********, selling us a sliding glass door on December 4, 2023. We paid half up front. Salesman was great, promising a complete seamless installation. He even agreed to send someone to fix a rotting piece of wood on our bay window. (Didnt happen! Our calls to the referred repairman/handyman were not returned!) When the Master Measure Technician arrived on December 12, we learned of errors on our order. The technician corrected the order and told us after installation, we would need to paint an unfinished inside wood plate. However, ******** had assured us we would not have to do anything! Salesman called to say sorry for the misunderstanding and he would be here the day of installation and would paint the unfinished wood plate. (Never saw or heard from Salesman again). And thus, our installation nightmare begins. The first door, scheduled for installation on February 8, 2024, arrived damaged. On installation day of the second door, April 18, after installing the frame, the distracted installers (very busy planning for their golf game tee time as soon as possible after finishing our installation), realized the door was too large for the frame! They quickly rigged the door to fit, leaving us under construction with an unlockable door, until a new door could be ordered. New crew, new door installed on June 7.. The screen was damaged and had to be reordered. Screen installed on July 22, with wrong color hardware. New screen hardware installed August 19. The color is brown, was supposed to be black! Due to complications with installation, the invoice was negotiated for a $300 discount. (Not nearly enough discount for 8 months of frustration!) If we had it to do over, we would fix our old door and not replace it with Renewal by Anderson! We would love to have our $7,000 and 8 months back!Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

Good evening, were very sorry to hear that this has been your experience. It does look like the Sales Consultant assigned to your project had some unexpected medical issues arise which consumed a lot of his schedule, but we are happy to follow through on the promises made by him to replace the rotting piece of wood and paint the wood plate. We did attempt to call you to discuss further and were unable to reach you. Please feel free to give us a call in the office if you require further assistance in getting these issues resolved. ************.Review from Kenneth E

Renewal by Anderson in ********** nc sends annoying sales people to your door to ignore no soliciting signs in the neighborhood and uses mis- leading tactics to make it appear the *** approves. Just stick to your no pressure mail flyers please...and back off Northchase!!Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

**************,We understand you might have been frustrated. Our Proximity Agents are indeed not selling anything. They are only trying to see if a homeowner might be interested in a free In-Home Consultation to learn more about our replacement windows and doors. I trust that he treated you respectfully when delivering this message. We do coach all of our Proximity Agents to do just that. We will address our team to make certain our Agents are not using any tactic that would indicate an HOA has approved if this is not the case.Thank you,*****Review from Donald D

Company refuses to acknowledge validity of No Soliciting sign.Aggressive salesmen wouldnt leave my property. Social media manager defends actions. See ****** interaction below. Will be filing formal report.Review:Door to door salesman came to my home, when I pointed out the no soliciting sign on the doorbell that he just rang he said that it doesnt apply to me, Im not selling anything (???) he was just giving quotes. Then he refused to leave for several minutes. Any company that comes to my property unprompted ensures that I will never do business with them.Edit/reply:The entire point of the consultation is to GET A SALE. You are not sending consultants door to door out of the kindness of your heart to warn people of the danger of their older windows. You are sending them to say peoples doors and windows are in poor condition in hopes that people will promptly want to buy windows from your company. This is by definition SOLICITATION.If I ask one of your consultants to kindly GET OFF MY PROPERTY, dont you think that the best course of action is for them to leave instead of to stand and argue that oh no Im not soliciting, Im trying to give you a consultation. Its a sales driver so it is solicitation. At least own up to it and tell your consultants to leave when asked and not to ring the doorbells of people with no solicitation signs.Response from company:******, thank you for the feedback. We apologize that this was your experience and are happy to elaborate more on this. Our Canvassing team does go door to door in hopes of providing more information to homeowners regarding our free in home consultations for replacement windows and doors. They do not offer estimates or try to sell product to the homeowner, they simply set the appointment for those interested in receiving more information. We do apologize if this was not properly communicated to you and hope that we have the opportunity to do business with you in the future. -******Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

I was very impressed with ***** who did the sales pitch. I dont know why u have to make a decision on the spur of the moment. I felt pressured that If I didnt sign a contract while he was here I would not get the best deal. People should have a few days to think about it and still be able to get the original deal. I signed up but the same day I cancelled the deal due to the terribly high price for 4 small windows.Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

Good Afternoon ****************. We are very sorry you were not pleased with your experience. It is never our goal to make any one feel pressured. Unfortunately, we do provide an incentive for those who are comfortable making a choice during their initial consultation as it allows us the ability to visit with other, new potential customers at a time you would request us to return. Please don't hesitate to contact us for any needs or concerns in the future.Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

****************,We are happy to hear you were impressed with *****. We also understand it is difficult to make a decision on the spot. But we are able to offer a special discount for a contract signed on the first visit, as we incur additional charges when we send a Sales person out for a second visit. If there is every anything Renewal by Andersen can do to help you with future window, patio door or entry door projects, please don't hesitate to reach out.Thank you,*****Review from Yasinda K

The customer service was awful. It was an office full of people that did not know what they were doing. Every time I called to speak with someone specifically, it took her days to call me back even when the matter was urgent. Also, the worst part of it all is when my windows were replaced, it took away my window *****. Now I have to hang my blinds outside of the window which is hideous. I dont believe my home was made for those windows but of course they didnt mention that because they wanted the money. Also, they told me the people who replaced the windows would be glad to hang up my blinds and they laughed at me when I asked. I will leave a terrible review every chance I get.Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

Good Afternoon Yasinda. We are very sorry for your experience. We noted your project was complete 18 months ago, we would have gladly tried to assist upon completion despite the fact that our agreement clearly outlines the responsibilities of window treatments. Our windows are 100% custom made and applicable for nearly any structure. If we can be of any service to you in the future please feel free to contact us.Review from Christine C

We had *********************** our house and had a great experience from beginning to end. ***** and his crew installed the windows and did a wonderful job. They were professional, polite and kind throughout the 2 day installation. The windows are high quality, and we already notice our air conditioning doesn't turn on as often as before. Yes, they are expensive but are worth every *****. I look forward to having these windows for decades to come.Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

The consultant who came to my home was more interested in leaving than showing us anything about the windows. The only thing she said about the windows was "I don't think you can afford our prices." She never told us a price or showed us any possible window replacements. I will not do business with them ever again though they call multiple times a day. I would not recommend them to anyone.Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

I scheduled a sales consultation to replace the windows in my ********** North Carolina home. I received a call confirming the consultation, in 2 weeks later, received a call from their sales office telling me that based on the location of my home and their assessment of its value, that I could not afford to replace my windows with Anderson products. What a bunch of elitist b******* was I dealing with? I would encourage anybody considering dealing with Anderson to seriously call somebody else.Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

Dear ********************, We are truly sorry for the miscommunication. Our company would never imply that someone can't afford our windows. We look forward to working with you.******, *********** ManagerReview from Carol M

Renewal by Anderson offers a high quality window- but a large part of their sales pitch is touting that all of their installers are employees, not contractors- and that if anything goes wrong with the installation- that they will take care of it. Not true.I had $60,000 worth of windows replaced in my 20 year old home. I had a wired alarm system (as wireless systems did not exist 20 years ago), and they were aware that the system would need to be reattached by my alarm company once the windows were in. The installers failed to keep my wires in a "plug"- which is standard with wired window and door replacement . This necessitated me having to switch my system to wireless for the areas replaced- costing me $2127- all because of their installers error. They agree to reimburse me only for the labor portion of this ($760.00). This is unreasonable as I would never have needed the rest if they had done their job. They do not stand by their installers as is their big claim, and I suspect, like many businesses post Covid- they are likely short of installers and the training is likely sub-par. The installers seemed completely overwhelmed by the scope of my job when they arrived at my home.Renewal by Andersen of Central North Carolina Response

Good Morning Ms. ******, We are very sorry for your frustration and experience. We do our very best to be as clear as possible regarding things like alarm systems and what we can and cannot do. My apologies for any confusion regarding how we manage our installation teams. While we do have some employee teams we also have contractors. There is no difference in the way we train, manage, over-see or warranty the work done by an employee or contractor. Ellen M******** General Manager Renewal by Andersen of Central NC, Coastal NC & SC
