Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. The owner of this company along with her mother that works the phone are some of the rudest people Ive ever dealt with. That is if you can get them on the phone, good luck. If I could give 0 stars I would. This was the WORST experience and Ill never use them again and will tell every single one of my contacts to do the same. I returned home when my fence was done and to my surprise they had drilled a massive post in the middle of my driveway for my gate. This was nor in the contract nor told to me verbally. Then the crew left sawdust all over without cleaning up, threw an empty water bottle and tshirt in my backyard, and they had cut down shrubbery/tree limbs and left them there. I honestly could have gotten over this (other than them ruining my driveway) but it was the rudeness and lack of customer service from the owner and her mother. They continued to blame it on me for not asking enough questions which is shocking because I cant question something I dont know happening. They then continued to talk down to me saying do you even hear whats coming out of your mouth when I was trying to explain what was wrong. They laughed at me, cut me off, wouldnt let me talk, and kept talking over me anytime I tried to say anything. The lack of professionalism was dumbfounding. While laughing they spitefully offered me $100 off of a $5,000 fence. That was just a slap in the face. They gaslit me so much I ended up breaking down crying over frustration WITH A FENCE COMPANY. I dont say this lightly but these people are horrible. Give your money to a better family who actually cares about their customers.

************** contacted Matthews Fence asking, originally, for a quote to remove the left side of her yards existing chainlink fence so she could utilize her neighbors horizontal wood fence. She was given that quote along with explanation of what was included in the quote. ************** then came back and requested a quote to replace the rest of her fence on the right side of her yard with new wood picture frame privacy. ************** sent video she had taken of her yard to us for that quote. I didnt feel comfortable quoting from a video, so we sent our representative to a scheduled appt to her home to measure for the new fencing. ************** chainlink fence had a 3 gate from the house followed by a 10 DD gate going along her driveway on the front right. We quoted exactly the same configuration as her existing fence only with wood privacy. Her old c/l fence had a gate post drilled into her asphalt driveway which was there to accommodate both the 3 single gate and one leaf of the double gate. Matthews Fence installers copied what she already had by digging up the ************** in the driveway and replacing it with a wood post. In the back area, ************** had some tree branches which were going to hang over the new fence. She told the crew she would go buy a small chainsaw and asked them to wait. Our crew manager, as a show of good faith and customer service, offered to cut the limbs so she would not have the expense of a chainsaw. They did that and left the branches as ************** had not been charged for clearing of trees or limbs on her contract as it was not necessary for the fence installation. After the fence was completed, the crew manager walked the new fence with ************** to show her where he filled in a dip along the fence due to a dip in the ground so dogs could not get out. At that time, ************** indicated to the crew manager that they did a wonderful job and she was happy about the fence. The day after completion, a final invoice was sent to ************** by email. It was after the final invoice was sent that ************** called once and left a message saying she wanted to pay the invoice. Before Matthews *enxe had a chance to call her back, ************** sent an email message saying she had concerns about a shirt and a water bottle and tree limbs that had been left in her yard. ******, the office manager, contacted ************** by phone and that is when ************** began complaining that we had installed a post in her driveway and she was not aware that would happen. ******, remained calm even as ************** was not, and explained that new wood post replaced the old c/l post that was already in the same place in her driveway. ************** continued to argue that she had no idea that would happen even after ****** pointed out it was shown on her contract and we copied the exact layout of what she had and she signed and agreed to the contract. ************** continued to argue and finally asked to speak with the owner of Matthews Fence. I, the owner, called ************** back and calmly explained that we did everything (and actually more with the cutting of limbs) that was stated on her contract that she agreed to. She kept indicating she was not aware that would be where we installed the fence, which was confusing to us as we put it exactly in the same place as her old fence and followed the contract. I asked ************** why she did not ask us these questions before installation or while we were installing and she indicated she didnt know she needed to ask those questions. I told her anytime you are paying for a big ticket item, you should always look over the contract with a fine-toothed comb as you want to understand exactly what you are getting and ensure everyone is on the same page. ************** then began to yell and then used foul language including the * word. I told her I would not tolerate that type of language as I am a Christian and I would not continue the conversation. Previously, in the conversation, I offered to send a crew out the next day to pick up the limbs at no charge and retrieve the shirt and water bottle they accidentally left. She indicated later in the conversation that she no longer felt safe for my crew to come back. So, as a show of good faith, I offered to take $100 off of the total for any disposal fee she incurred getting rid of the limbs. She indicated that was chump change because she was unhappy we put a post in the exact same location as a previous c/l post. As a contractor or a customer, I indicated to *************, that we all have to do our own due diligence. If theres something we dont understand, we ask questions and get answers. As a customer, she needed to also ask any questions before or even during installation and she did not. She signed our contract that clearly stated what would be installed and where and given a picture of the fence she chose. ************** indicated she just wanted an apology for the mistake and I told her that I did apologize for the shirt and water bottle left on-site as thats not usual for that crew. However I could not apologize for the post in her driveway since it was installed properly, followed exact instructions from her signed contract, and also matched the exact location of the fence we removed. We do always hate when a customer is unhappy but we installed ************** a great quality privacy fence that followed exactly her signed contract and she will enjoy it for many years to come. When I ran her credit card, which she approved by email, for the final balance, I did take $100 off for the limb disposal as we dont like customers to leave unhappy.
