Our contractor hired Jake Kurtz Painting to paint our remodeled 1st floor a little over a year ago. What should have been a dream makeover has been ruined by the crappy paint job everywhere. Unfortunately the paint job is the face of the makeover What should have taken 2 weeks MAX stretched into over 6 weeks. We even moved out of our house for 2 weeks which should have been MORE than enough time to allow them to paint everything, but they still dragged it out. He bragged that he had a whole "crew" but more often than not it was just a single person who would show up for 30 minutes, roll out literally 2 strips of paper to cover the floor, and then be gone for the rest of the day. When they did finally show up, they were sloppy and left trash everywhere. They would leave bags of half eaten food 2 feet away from a trash can so my dogs were constantly getting into who knows what. A few times I smelled marijuana- I can't say if they smoked it in my house or if they just reeked of it but it would definitely help explain their painting abilities- or lack thereof. They were horrible painters as well. Didn't fill any holes, didnt even take out all the nails- just painted right over them! They didn't remove all the hardware so some handles were painted over while others were not(??), they didn't open the windows to paint the entire frame, so when we open the windows, only half of the frame is painted. They sprayed everything and didn't backroll anything so on our older wood doors you could see right through the paint to the previous oak! I had to go back and repaint all of shelves and doors. They splashed paint all over the base of the kitchen table, didn't paint behind the refrigerator so you can still see brick red paint behind it. There was overspray through out my faux painted entry that was not going to be painted, he was supposed to match and stain the wood in the kitchen to the cabinets and it's not even close to matching- he totally missed some areas leavi
