Over the year and a half that I have worked at Habitz I have found out a variety of issues. They claim they’re closed one day a year but this last year they gave staff less than a week’s notice that we’d be open on that day. When I was hired I was told there would be quarterly reviews and raises happening often. I had to beg to get a raise after being there over a year. They will do anything in their power to not let you use your PTO you get after being there for a year. If you’re sick and need a day to recover they will ask you to come in no matter what state you’re in. They also expect staff to pick up hours for other staff but they don’t want to pay people overtime. They expect us to run stores alone morning and night time which is very unsafe and the job gets busy. They are unwilling to staff the stores properly to the point that customers point out that we need help. I have also seen them tell people they have the job and then not get back to that person. They ask for a month in advance for a heads up about time off and then won’t respond to you when you ask them about it. When it comes to procedures the owners and general manager all have different preferences on how they like things done, with that being said as an employee you always feel like you’re doing something wrong or are going to get written up by one of them. My ex-manger that I worked along side got physically assaulted by one the owners. Over all this place will tear your mental health apart and will not look good on your resume. They also get the whole staff involved when a family conflict occurs. They have made one of the owners seem mentally unstable, which this doesn’t sit well with any of the staff.
