May 2021, I bought a 2011 ****** Outback with a warranty. It had 1 previous owner, 80k miles and no accident history. 4 months into owning the vehicle I started having issues. 1st it was the brakes. I initially brought my car to the ***************** did NOT honor my warranty. They claimed to have no record of it (********, ** location), although I had paperwork showing I had paid for it. They told me to bring it elsewhere. I called Berlin City auto Group in ** where I had made the purchase. They took my name & said a manager would contact me. That never happened. I sent emails and nothing. I started bringing my car to VIP Auto for servicing. Since purchasing the vehicle for $16,000 in May 2021, I have spent over $12,000 in repairs ( I have only been able to pay off $11,000 on the vehicle bc of this so I still owe money on it). Initially, four months after purchase it was the brakes, then the tires, then a timing belt, then my computer went haywire and now the car doesnt lock or have interior lights, then I replaced the brakes and tires again, then I had to replace a brake line, then they told me the front axle boot was torn and Id need to replace my axle which they found after I had replaced my tires and brakes four times in 2 years and 8 months. The list goes on. The Ac/heating is busted, windows dont properly function, I had to replace some cylinders and on and on. When I contacted the dealership again this winter I was able to get through, and they said a manager would email me. He did. He offered to buy back the vehicle for less than I still owe on it- I believe the offensive amount suggested was less than $2500. He told me the person who sold it to me was no longer there so they couldnt verify my claims and had no record of me bringing the car to its warranty appointment. I am happy to provide receipts for the work done since purchase and show them the warranty I purchased which was never honored. They sold me a lemon and refuse to accept responsibility.
