********* uses the negative option subscription renewal model. You do not receive a notification of any kind prior to the annual renewal charge to your credit card and there is a strict no refund policy once the charge is made. I personally feel that annual subscription services like this should provide subscribers with advance notification of renewal charges. I utilized Bondsavvys bond investment service for two years. On April 30, 2024 I was billed $775 for the annual renewal. I discovered this charge on May 7 and, after considering whether in fact I wanted continue with this service for another year, decided that I did not want to and contacted *******************, President and Founder of Bond Savvy that same day and requested a refund. ***** declined to do so, citing the nonrefundable annual renewal policy in the Terms and Conditions. Several follow up emails did not yield a favorable outcome. This practice is currently legal but, in my option, not ethical, and apparently the ************************ (***) agrees. The *** defines negative option as a provision of a contract under which the consumer's silence or failure to take affirmative action to reject a good or service or to cancel the agreement is interpreted by the negative option seller as acceptance or continuing acceptance of the offer. The *** has proposed regulations requiring negative option annual subscriptions such as the plan used by ********* to provide notifications to subscribers prior to assessing a nonrefundable charge to your credit card.I encourage the *** to advocate strongly in favor of annual subscription renewal notifications as proposed by the ***. And I encourage ************ and ********* to adopt an advance notice or renewal policy to avoid situations like this, where he has charged customers who no longer wish to subscribe.

I am the founder and president of Bondsavvy, a company I founded in ************************************************* individual corporate bonds. Regarding ***** ********** review about our billing...Like most subscription services, our subscriptions auto renew on their anniversary date. We make this clear to new subscribers when they sign up, and ***** agreed to the auto-renewal when he signed up. In addition, it is easy for subscribers to cancel their subscriptions within the Bondsavvy subscriber area.***** became a Bondsavvy subscriber April 29, 2022, paying a one-year fee of $775. His subscription first auto renewed on April 29, 2023 at the same $775 fee he initially paid. His subscription then renewed again April 29, 2024 at the same fee. At each renewal, he received a real-time email from our payment processor indicating the fee was charged.Eight days after his April 29, 2024 renewal, ***** emailed Bondsavvy to cancel his subscription. After we indicated that we could not do this, he wrote his BBB review. We are very clear on how our subscription policies work and provide easy ways for our subscribers to manage their accounts.
