Kia had to replace my engine on my vehicle because it was under warranty and the engine seized. When I took the car in to get fixed the air conditioner worked perfectly fine and when the work on the vehicle was completed and I picked up my car the air conditioner has not been working properly. I took the vehicle back to them a few times to fix it and today they told me that it would cost me $1300 to fix the air conditioner. I do not understand how I would have to pay for this repair when the air conditioner was working perfect when I dropped the car off and they are the ones that had to replace the engine due to their manufacturer defect. I want the air conditioner fixed properly.Business response

Good afternoon, we are sorry to hear you are having issues with your A/C. I have looked into the situation and it looks like the vehicle was in for an engine replacement with 93891 miles , after a week vehicle returned with A/C issue. We recharged the ac with dye and a week later it returned and was empty again upon inspection there was a hole in the A/C condenser with 94236 miles. The two repairs are un related issues, unfortunately with 90k+ miles components do start to wear our or can be damaged and have multiple unrelated issues.Customer response

My air conditioner in my vehicle was working perfectly fine before this whole ordeal occurred with the engine. Kia had my possession of my vehicle for multiple months getting the parts to replace the engine for which I'm very thankful. However, during the repair process something happen and the a/c was damaged and instead of kia doing the right thing a fixing their mistake they put the car together and gave it back to me with this issue. Upon getting the car back I realized the air was not working approximately so I brought it back to have kia fix the car. Instead of them fighting their wrong kia charged the car with freon knowing there was a leak and that I would be forced to bring the car back a 2nd time to be fixed. Which they knew they would be able to tell me the air is not working due to an outside issue and then turn around and try charging me over $1300 to fix the car. This is money that I do not have. I know that kia is responsible for the issue I'm having with my a/c and it is only right that they fix what they messed up. ***** ***[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the response. Purchase date 8-16-2021 When we purchased our vehicle we were offered a customer care package that was suppose to include 8 details. When we requested the details we were told it consisted of vacuuming our vehicle. We spoke to John in finance he said we did not have that service. We requested to speak to a manager. John called us back and said he found our customer care purchase ($800.00) which included ONLY 3 details. We were lied to and are being treated condesendantly and disrespectfully.Business response

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention , we have reviewed all of the purchase documents and do not see any written or printed documentation from our company or representative stating the 8 details so if you could please submit the documentation showing the 8 details promised with the sale we will absolutely honor that. We reviewed the protection packages purchased and there is a care plan that has 3 details with the package , and the due bill does not show anything promised or owed after the fact. We will absolutely honor any written or printed documents from our company showing that 8 details were promised.
