They did a bathroom remodel for my parents in 2017 and ever since then we have had problems no one would come out after numerous calls to them they claims someone would come and no one came then due to the death of both parents in 2017 and 2018 we were unable to contact them. They did not water proof the shower and now it is leaking heavy into my basement there is damage to the floor and ceiling in the basement the shower is now useable and i dont have the funds to make the extensive repairs need to fix the shower as well as the basement where water has leaked intoBusiness response

I am very confused by this complaint for several reasons. First, the bathroom was done 7 years ago and had we not done it properly with the wonder board on the walls & membrane on the floor (which is the method of what ******************** is talking about) the problems would have started immediately. All bathrooms are constructed with it and tile over the wonder board and either a shower basin for a shower or a bathtub, whichever the customer has decided to do for their needs. She also stated that they had called the office numerous times, and we kept saying someone would come but then also stated that they were unable to contact us? If we were contacted by her parents, we most certainly would have gone there and looked to see if there was anything that we had done incorrectly or if not if we could have helped them regardless.Initial Complaint

***** from Diplomat Home Improvement LLC, Came to my home for a basement consultation in early September 2023, We agreed on a final price of 17k, with a $500 deposit. Weeks gone by, and very vague replies from *****. Every week he blatantly lied about coming to start The job. 4th week came by and he dared to come to speak to me face to face saying he didn't need a state-issued license to start the work. I disagreed and asked for my money back. Said he will send refund by mail , and its been almost 2 months ...no mailed refund. No refund given even though I contacted him and his business countless times. They keep on lying saying its been mailed. ***** is a fraud and should be investigated by the Police/state and have his license revoked...if he even has one.Business response

The reason that it took so long to try to start this job was because there were delays in trying to get the violations from the customer that she currently has in her home in her existing basement. We were given a copy of one then we were put off for a few weeks until she gave us the second one that she received. Well after the 3 days right to cancel. The contract was to only REMOVE existing violations, which was illegal living space in her basement. Our contract is to demo only all of that and to create area for the boiler area and washing machine. The "license" that the customer is referring to is a PERMIT for the work, not a LICENSE. Their architect disagreed with us and said that a permit was needed so we were no longer doing the work. The obligation to return their deposit lies in the office and not *****, as he is just a salesman, and it was overlooked. The return deposit is in todays mail.Customer response

Im not sure if you've seen the correct contract we agreed on. Clearly we aren't looking at the same thing or...your just plain lying. We didnt only agree on boiler room and basement work. I will attach the whole entire contract that quite vividly states all the other work that I inquired for the contractor to do. Removal of kitchen sink and stove , garage modifications just to name the few. Instead of going back and forth and risking your business , just give me back my $500. You guys are already rated poorly on every review website and everyone knows of your frauds. So I really find it to your own best interest to not go to court with me. I will do it and the amount of proof I have will show others, the scam you guys have been running for years

I believe I have addressed everything I need to in this complaint by the customers son or grandson. The deposit was sent back the day the complaint was received like I stated I would, and it was cashed (see attached) I have not run anywhere as falsely accused by the complaint here. I have personally NEVER received any phone calls here in the office either. I am not going to go back and forth with him because *************** is the client, and this is nowhere near the way she speaks. As a matter of fact, she was apologizing for the behavior of the male (son or grandson) behavior at the house.Customer response
