An awful service experience! My first email was sent on Sunday, October 6, 2024, 4:27: I would like to file a formal complaint against Price Chopper store manager Jason W***** I went to the store at 15 Park Ave in Clifton Park to ask for a price match on a 4-pack of Old Spice hydrated body wash on 10/5/24 at 8:05am. I was told by Jason that he can not give them to me for free. I responded they’re not free, they are four packs for $15.19 on your website. If it was on your weekly ad then you would give them to me for the sale price, so why not on your website? He became upset when I said that the manager of the store on route 146, Kayla, a couple weeks ago price matched for me. He asked me if I have the receipt; when I showed the receipt to him, Jason did not want to look at it! Jason then screamed at me, ma’am l need you to leave; I am escorting you out of my store and don't come back! I want Jason to write me an apology for the way he treated me. I spend hundreds each month at your stores so I do not deserve humiliation from him! As you know, reputation is very important in a highly-competitive retail business. My experience with this manager shows your organization in a very unfavorable light. It’s been 24 days since my email still hasn’t received any response from Price Chopper and the Old Spice GentleMan's Blend Super Hydration Body Wash for Deep Cleaning 4× 20 oz $15.19 / ea ($3.80/ea) are still offering on your website according to Kayla a store manager on RT 146 stated it was a mistake and was took down since my email.Review from Arif K

They are gouging prices. Nickeling and diming products and doubling others. Pot pie was 4.99, now 8.99. They’re 1.29 pkg. bananas gone. There are no reasons for this, record profits. Like i stated nickel and dime a lot of products as if no one would notice. GREED. Saw a bag of pita chips for 8.99, OUTRAGEOUSReview from Michelle W

Price Chopper on Erie Blvd racial profiles black customers. I went shopping after my overnight shift. I paid for my groceries and never received a receipt. I asked the cashier if I can get a receipt. The Cashier then told me that I didn't pay for my groceries and if I want a receipt, that I need to pay for my groceries. I did. The cashier that called everyone to me. I was surrounded by 6 to 7 people. They all accused me stealing and told me that if I paid for my groceries that they will offer me a refund. So again, I rang up my items. This time, the cashier was telling me that I didn't ring everything up correctly and that I don't know how to use the machine. I paid for my items on a new register and still NO RECEIPT was printed. They had to print a duplicate receipt. I went to my vehicle, checked my bank account and sure enough, they charged me twice for my groceries. I re entered Price Chopper. Showing them my bank account where they in fact double charged me. They then got on the phone with someone and told me that I will be given a refund within 30 minutes. 2 hours pass and I haven't been issued a refund. Completely unprofessional. I was never given an apology for the time wasted in the store or for them racial profiling by the manager. He was very rude and couldn’t bother himself trying to aid me. He’s the one who told me to pay twice. Then brushed me off and I was then treated like a thief. Thanks for embarrassing me after I worked 10 hours on my overnight shift. Congratulations!! I will never shop at Price Chopper again.Review from Noreen L

Terrible experience….tried their pick up service , which was through Instacart, and was overcharged by almost $20.00 and BOGO items were MISSING. The store’s assistant Manager was not helpful, told to contact Instacart ( a true train wreck!) which we did…a fiasco. Today, my husband drove 80 MILES to get our correct order but to no avail….they refused as we did not have a receipt….ordered online and Instacart did not give printed receipt. Lipton Ice Tea online stated $5.99 BOGO…..my husband HAD to purchase and was charged $9.99 plus tax. When we disputed this, associate stated that in flyer ,it is $9.99. We are retired, on fixed income and cannot afford to overpay in both food & gas. All we wanted is to be treated fairly…did not happen. DO NOT USE INSTACART AT PRICE CHOPPER #171…we will no longer shop at PC ever again.Review from Kalypso D

I purchased a sub from their Deli case 8.99- it had glass in it . My son and I were sharing it . He found the glass. I already ate 1/4 of the sandwich. Now what? Because it’s 7:05 pm. I’ll wait until morning to contact management. That’s if I’m not sick. Glass….Review from Tamara S

This is a warning to patrons of subsidiary **** ******** ******* in Rhinebeck, NY. This store consistently charges higher prices during checkout than what they post on shelves. About 75% of my weekly shopping experiences result in overcharges. I review my receipt before exiting the store and invariably find items were overcharged. I then have to chase after a store manager, show them my receipt, walk them over to the item in the store, point out the discrepancy. They then have to issue a refund for the difference or, if I purchased multiples thinking they were on sale, I have to return items. This lengthy process repeated many times understandably annoys everyone yet it continues week after week, wasting everyone's time and costing me extra money which I cannot afford. In an effort to save money during these difficult times when their prices increase significantly each time I shop there, I make purchasing decisions (items and quantity) based on even small savings. To then see that I sacrificed purchasing the items I preferred yet did not get the savings anticipated, is very frustrating. It is also very unpleasant to antagonize store employees and the store managers by pointing out these problems but it does not seem right that I should pay extra and fall victim to false advertising. It is not feasible for me to price check every item I want to purchase using the in-store scanners so this is not a solution. Price misrepresentation happens often enough that even if it is due to incompetence or oversight, surely it borders on fraud given the significant number of customers overcharged on a daily basis in this popular store. I advise shoppers to carefully check their receipts (admittedly difficult to decipher) before leaving the store.Review from Ayana H.

I have been shopping at Market 32 on Hubbard Ave in Pittsfield, Ma for YEARS. Yesterday, i purchased 2 items one being seafood the other being alcohol that i had to show my ID for. As i'm walking back to my car talking on my phone i hear 2 men screaming and running after me with a receipt in their hand saying i did not pay for my items. I left the receipt for my seafood on the counter and had my receipt for my alcohol in my hand. I have never been more embarrassed and humiliated in my life. It would be different if they approached me properly but instead i was chased down as if i had just robbed a bank. I am disgusted, they will NEVER get my business again.Review from marc a

so i had this experience at the price chopper in latham some months ago.. spoke to three managers and the district manager and there was no resolution. im a bit irrate that this issue got swept under the rug , which a reason i will never step foot in price chopper nor will my family. I went in the latham price chopper for eggnog and stumbled on cereal on sale my home is full of cereal eating children so i thought why not its on sale.it was 1.99 as stated on the shelf but when i rang it up on the self checkout another price appeared so i addressed it to the checkout lady at the end..and it appeared that she didnt want to believe which was fine as the sign was still on the shelf for the 1.99 price.. another cashier confirmed that yes it does say that but she got a manager who took 3 other people to the location to confirm that it was the price that i was saying it was. the manager came back and said ok ill give it to you at that price as if she is doing me a favor now at this point i was irrate but did not show it. all of this over some 2 dollar cereal unreal. she said she would give it to me at that price as if she was doing me a favor how about sorry about that sir you were right i will honor the price that is posted on the shelf. left the store spoke to the district manager months ago and seems there was no apology or any resolution. will never step foot in price chopper again you just lost a loyal customer over 2 dollars.. thanksReview from Arthur Q.

I'm speaking about the Price Chopper store in Morrisville, VT. I have shopped the store for 30 years. I even quit using them after 20 something years then started back. I wish I had not ! Pschologically the store isn't healthy for anybody to shop there. The store has changed management several times in the 30 years I've use them. The store has gone from a great place to shop to the most irritating store I've ever encountered ! They have the most confrontational, the most lazy, they most lying, the most unhelpful and openly fraudelent store, group and organization in existence. I use a deli market to purchase freshly cut products. As a matter of fact the deli is the sole reason I stopped using the store the first time! I don't want ends and pieces already cut and placed in a plastic wrap, set on a shelf and sold at the market or sale price. The deli folks refuse to open a fresh item for slicing when a small end only remains. They will go so far to tell you they don't have another to open and it's directly visible from where you stand. The manager will even lie for them when you challenge their refusal to open a new item. The meat department rarely and on many occasions never have the items on sale as advertised.. It use to be referrred to as "bait and switch".. Today there it's common management practice. Self check out is the most irritable system of any I've encountered in Vermont. Many times at the self check the attendent has to be searched for when needed. I'm thoroughly convienced that there is no training programs for their employees at all ! I'm waiting for this store to force customers to come in and self-stock their preferred grocery itmes prior to the self-check out! Bakery products are often packaged prior to allowing the items to cool done properly prior to packaging resulting in distressed product. Out of code items in bakery being offered. Hot food offered for immediate consumption too old.
