I will never, ever use this company again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. Went with Crown because they were doing the maintenance on my A/C system previously. Crown told me I needed a new Condenser coil. I felt their price was high and I wanted to get a couple other quotes, but hey, it's August and it's like 90 degrees, so I had them do the job. They made me pay half upfront for the part -~$1600, even though the part was $1200. After completion I asked for a breakdown of the cost in terms of parts and labor. The techs made some lame excuse as to why they couldn't do that. I called their office several times, they hung up on me twice, and never called me back. Also, I meant to tell the techs I wanted the old coil but forgot. So in my discussion about the bill, I asked for the old coil back since it has copper scrap value, they in essence refused, so they basically stole the part from me, as they never asked me if they could take it. Do yourself a favor, go with a smaller, local independently owned contractor. Ask for an itemization of the cost and keep in mind that some parts of an AC unit have scrap value.

The manufacturer requires that the condenser coil be returned to the factory to allow the processing of a warranty credit. Our technician had already provided you with the $1200.00 credit in advance. If you would like to discuss this further, please call the office.Review from Michael C

Our furnace stopped working and we called Crown. Crown originally installed the furnace and had performed some service work. The service man diagnosed the problem to be the gas valve. He replaced the value without giving us an estimate. After replacing the valve, he asked for payment of $820.72. We were shocked and asked why the cost was so high. The time spent was less than 30 mins. The service man said the gas valve was very complex. He said we could not buy the valve, unless you were a licensed contractor and certified to install the valve. We paid the bill. The next day I discovered that the gas valve was a standard furnace part and available at a local parts store and online for $135.97. The service call was $99. The gas valve probably cost Crown less than $135. Crown charged us $721.72 for part. I felt a mistake had been made I contacted the service manager about the bill. He said the charge was correct, nothing could be resolved.Review from Patricia M

In 2016 Crown installed a new furnace, air conditioner and hot water heater as I converted from all electric to gas. The price tag was approx. $12,000.00. I agreed to the maintenance contract expecting regular cleaning would keep all systems like new. Six years into use the furnace stopped working. I called for repair and it was a switch that had gone bad and needed replaced. Very disappointing after 6 years and consistant maintenance. Then as I see in other customer complaints, the service technician had to go get the part as he did not have it in his truck. After completion of the repair I was informed a $100.00 charge was added to my bill for the technicians trip to get the part. With that my bill was $400.00 total. I had been a customer of Crown since at least 2006 and they were who I chose to install the new systems in my home. Enough. They did not do me any favors as a result of years of loyalty.
