            There was no drop-down choice for having someone come out and recheck the work which is what is going to have to be done for peace of mind. The person Crown sent to repair/recharge our unit was an APPRENTICE. He was completely unsupervised and alone which is ILLEGAL in the state of Ohio. He was unlicensed and performing work so we are not even sure it was done appropriately since there was no oversight. To add insult to injury, we were given a quote by the apprentice and AFTER he did the work he informed us he "had made a mistake in his quote" and charged us more! This is nothing against the kid. He was very polite but that doesn't make up for not being licensed and then overcharging us. We got charged prices for R22 but R410A was put in our unit. It is highway robbery and, in my opinion, it's because we didn't sign up for their special program and we declined the $800 diagnostic fee to trace what must be a minuscule leak. The entire service was so out of character for Crown which we have used in the past. Very disappointed and feel the only way to make this right is for a significant refund since we are going to have to have it rechecked by a LICENSED technician to make sure the work was done properly.

            I will never, ever use this company again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. Went with Crown because they were doing the maintenance on my A/C system previously. Crown told me I needed a new Condenser coil. I felt their price was high and I wanted to get a couple other quotes, but hey, it's August and it's like 90 degrees, so I had them do the job. They made me pay half upfront for the part -~$1600, even though the part was $1200. After completion I asked for a breakdown of the cost in terms of parts and labor. The techs made some lame excuse as to why they couldn't do that. I called their office several times, they hung up on me twice, and never called me back. Also, I meant to tell the techs I wanted the old coil but forgot. So in my discussion about the bill, I asked for the old coil back since it has copper scrap value, they in essence refused, so they basically stole the part from me, as they never asked me if they could take it. Do yourself a favor, go with a smaller, local independently owned contractor. Ask for an itemization of the cost and keep in mind that some parts of an AC unit have scrap value.

            The manufacturer requires that the condenser coil be returned to the factory to allow the processing of a warranty credit. Our technician had already provided you with the $1200.00 credit in advance. If you would like to discuss this further, please call the office.
