I have bever been more insulted in my life. Brad D**** made it a point to completely contradict me without listening to my side of the story. He had some sort of photometer which he interpreted as saying the Hackberry tree (he rudely corrected me and called it a sugarberry; sugarberry and Hackberry are identical-- sugarberry more often refers to Celtis pallida, whereas Hackberry generally refers to Celtis occidentalis.) would not block the sunlight from the roses. This is not true; if you stand where the roses are, you can clearly see that the Celtis occidentalis blocks the sunlight. In fact, if the tree would at least be pollarded, it would open up at least 2 to 3 additional hours of sunlight per day on the roses, dramatically improving their performance. I am a professional horticulturalist and amateur botanist. I have worked in the horticulture industry since 1999 in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and Washington state. In addition, I have Doctor of Medicine degree from OU and graduated with honors from OU. When I told him I didn't appreciate the way he was addressing me and that I thought he should leave my property, he told me I was stupid and that he had ought to charge me $40 for wasting his valuable time. His final words were 'Im not cutting down this tree for your precious roses!' I felt angry and sad at the same time, and I actually broke down into tears after he left. He had no appreciation for anything important to ME. His job was to offer me options to cut and/or remove the Hackberry tree. He didn't live up to my expectations. Furthermore, I believe he owes me a verbal apology.
