We had a real problem with our backdoor. The existing door and door frame had both been modified and simply did not work correctly. Multiple contractors had unsuccessfully attempted to fix the problems. The door itself was old and ugly, but buying a new door was not a straightforward option, because the frame was not a standard size. We decided we would buy a new higher-end standard-sized door with modern hardware to complement our recently remodeled home. One quote was over $6000 for the door and installation! We ordered a new door at a reasonable cost and began looking for a carpenter with a good reputation. That was when we found Fred. What a lucky break! The work he did was exceptional and at a very reasonable cost. For less than $2000 total we now have a beautiful, fully functioning high-end door. He hand-painted it (applying many coats because we wanted a black door) and he took his time working on the seal and locks. The icing on the cake was when he also identified and fixed two relatively minor issues that we had been living with, but that we could not resolve on our own. We could not be happier!
