I used PHP in Aug 2022. I got 5 bids. PHP was a mid-range bid. I chose them because they pressure washed, caulked & painted on different days. The painting went ok. Some trash & general mess was left behind. I had to ask them to return because they missed caulking/painting on part of the chimney. Spring 2023, I saw more missed caulking/painting that I fixed it myself. In May 2023, I discovered the caulking on the side of the house that gets the afternoon sun was cracking. I called ***** who said, *************** staining isnt covered under the warranty. That is not stated in their contract. Contract states ALL OF OUR WORK INCLUDES A TWO YEAR WARRANTY - We take pride in the quality of our work, & always stand behind it; so if there are any problems in the quality of the paint job that occur within two years, PHP will come back & fix the problems free of charge. Any problems in the quality of paint job will surface within two years. ***** came to look at the cracked caulking & said the gap between the siding is too large & no caulking will ever hold. He said "We use the best caulking, Tower Tech 2, and even that won't hold." As a compromise, he said he would come out and re-caulk, if I would paint it. Never heard back from him. I have had other painters/contractors come look at this issue & they made these comments: That should not have happened. Did they use bad caulk? It looks like an apprentice applied the caulking in this area. It should be smooth & pliable, not tough. It looks like it was applied by a 2-year-old. I thought I had done my homework prior to choosing a painting company. I checked the BBB, ************************* I had to pay someone else to correctly fix the issue since PHP doesnt seem to know how & is **** I would recommend using a company that has a more thorough contract that includes details about what is & is not covered under warranty. Also, looking back, it appears this company doesnt know how to handle complex issues.
