I am new to PA. I bought a home that was renovated except the gutters needed redone. Everyone in my neighborhood recommended the gutter guys. Dave came out and provided an estimate. I signed for the work and it was done. We had some rain the next several days and I had no issues with water in my basement. We then had some high winds the next few days. By the end of the second day of high wind, one of the smaller gutters broke away from the house at the bottom. It was anchored by the brackets on the roof but kept banging up and down. When I called and sent video, instead of saying “we’ll be right out” I was met with argument and the statement “do you know gutters better than we do?” I have owned several hoes over the years in all types of weather and never had an issue like this. That gutter didn’t budge until the end of the last day of high winds, which makes sense that it became unsecured. After arguing with several others, they did come out and secure the gutter with brackets. However, the gutter is now pitched the opposite way. My neighbors who have used gutter guys have confirmed this and I had another gutter/contracting company out to look at it and confirmed that the opposite end of the gutter needs to be lifted 1.5”. The gutter guys came out and sent me a video of them running water with a hose on my roof. They then pan the video to where some water does drain onto the adjacent gutter and a little trickles out the downspout. However, they failed to capture all the standing water sitting at opposite end of the gutter. I’m told this is normal and it “passed the water test” therefore they do not need to repair this. The same gutter on the opposite side of my house is pitched properly. They ran this “water test” on it and videoed it. There is no standing water in that gutter. They refuse to stand by their work. I can’t believe how I’ve had to argue to get the gutter taken off, put on at the proper angle and secured.. They won’t respond to me now.
