On 07/14/2023, I visited AeroCare/Adapt Health to obtain a CPAP machine. Upon signing the documents, they disclosed that it was a rent-to-own arrangement. I, alongside the prescribing doctor, inquired about paying off the machine, covering my 80/20 share. They explained that after 3 compliant months, insurance would settle the payment. Three months later, I asked AeroCare for a payoff. They directed me to have the insurance submit paperwork. I contacted the insurance, learning they couldn't file by law. AeroCare had to. After informing AeroCare, they committed to submitting paperwork. Weeks later, checking with insurance, no claim was filed. AeroCare insisted they couldn't act without insurance paperwork. Initiating a three-way call, the agent was rude, claiming an agreement with AeroCare for rent-to-own. The insurance clarified that for amounts under $1000, no prior authorization was needed if they submitted the paperwork. Post-call, the insurance guided me on reviewing the agreement, explaining how they could proceed despite AeroCare's reluctance. I was told to pay off the machine, request an itemized statement, submit paperwork, and assured reimbursement. While a receipt and itemized statements were provided, none accounted for the $714.32 payment. In response, I've taken the step of filing a chargeback with my credit card due to the ongoing issues with AeroCare. Now, AeroCare is delaying, not providing a proper itemized statement for the $714.32 payment. Despite numerous calls, only excuses are given.
