      1 star

One star is only because the young men who came were polite. Otherwise zero stars from me. A slow water leak from my kitchen to basement left damage to walls, furniture, floors and cabinets. I called on a Friday afternoon and the crew began to remove damaged wall ceiling tiles and office furniture. The lead man had me sign on a handheld computer that did not state what I was agreeing to except for them to begin demo. They did not remove the tile flooring that covered the very wet subfloor, or the cabinet floor that was saturated. They put heaters and dehumidifiers in the kitchen and basement. They rechecked several times to see if it was dry. It was not. They declined to remove the offending cabinet or pull up the tile to get the sub floor dry. After 2 weeks I had them remove all their gear that had accomplished nothing. It was very stressful for me and my husband are both elderly and disabled. Shortly after a new company came in did appropriate demo and remediation. I had to be hospitalized for open heart surgery and was in the hospital 3 weeks or so, When I got home a lien on my house had been placed for over $12000. I had never received even a courtesy call from this company. I was not home when the original bill arrived. I turned it over to my homeowner's insurance adjuster. The lien was predatory, and after having been paid by the insurance for services that could be proven to have been done (to the insurance company} they still have not released the lien and want $4200 or so, more that they can't prove they did. This is elder abuse. It is incompetence and the worst kind of taking advantage of people in distress. This is unscrupulous business practice! My health is still suffering because of it.

First of all, I would like to point out that we tried to do you a favor because your basement room had mold all in it. We didn't report that issue to the insurance company because the would have denied the claim all together and you would have been out of pocket for an entire mold remediation and any other damage you had to your home. Insurance companies do not pay for black mold. We sat equipment to dry everything out. The subfloor was still wet due to the hardwood flooring you had in your home. It's called bound water. This hardwood ran underneath your kitchen cabinets you were not willing to have the cabinets pulled because of your backsplash was imported from out of country. The only way to dry out subfloor, in this situation, was to remove the hardwoods. You signed a waiver and mold release forms, knowingly / willingly that there was potential issues that we brought up with the way things were being done. With that being said, your insurance adjuster came out and performed his inspection everything was to his standard, except detaching cabinets to perform the needed services. We received strict instructions from the adjuster and home owners to not remove the cabinets or tile flooring in the kitchen. instead we were told to cavity dry the area that’s why we put fans and dehumidifiers in the kitchen. the adjuster told us to hold off so he could have his contractors take a look at potentially fixing/removing the cabinets. We offered to continue to dry it for free so we could test our new specialized, non invasive, tile drying system that we just received. We arrived at your home to dry the subfloor underneath the kitchen floor tile but when we arrived to place it, the home owners told us to remove all equipment and leave. From the beginning we made it abundantly clear of our intentions and what needed to be included in demo work. When the home owners ordered us to remove all of our equipment before the drying/demo process was complete, we made them aware of all of our readings and the risks associated with them. After that they signed a limited liability and mold waiver acknowledging what we told them. We followed the IICRC standard for mold and water remediation. As far as the additional amount of money owed, that would be between you and your insurance company. I submitted my bill to them and they didn't wan't to pay for the services. The remaining amount goes to the customer to pay. This is similar to any other insurance claim whether it be medical or auto insurance......what they do not pay becomes the responsibility of the home owner. We normally do not have any issues getting our bills paid. I would suggest looking for another insurance company for any future losses.
