I have an account with UBank in Huntington, TX. It is considered to be a local bank, but I am in ******. I mail my check in about the 4th of the month. Since COVID started, I have had to call the bank to see why my check hasn't cleared. During the height of the pandemic, it made sense. However, this has been happening for over a year now and the pandemic can no longer be the reason there is a delay in cashing a check. I am still calling since the check is not clearing before the 16th. When I call, they "find" the check and it clears within a day or two. I should not have to call to get a check to clear and it should not take 12 days for a check to clear. I have considered sending the check return receipt, but it will get quite expensive quite quickly. I am not having a problem with any other bank or check. They wait until after the 16th to cash the check and then try to assess late charges. I have sent letters to the bank president (return receipt) asking for a listing of all payments and have not received an answer. I would like the BBB to contact the business and get a listing of all payments. I would also like the BBB to determine why it is taking so long for Ubank to cash my check and why it is also cashed within a day or two of my phone call. This is getting to be very frustrating.
