Be careful and do not enter into any kind of commitment with this insurance company. It is an absolute fraud. I have tried to cancel my account several times and there is no way to get this company to cooperate. The reason is that every month they take away the money that I have accumulated over about 10 years. The catch is that there is no way to cancel that account. I have been trying to cancel for months. I sent the document that I had to sign to cancel and that indicated how I wanted to receive my money, I sent it certified mail, with a tracking number, and when I called to ask them why I kept receiving letters from them about matters that had nothing to do with the cancellation, they told me it was because I had not canceled the account. In addition, they told me that because I did not cancel the account, they kept taking money from what I had accumulated, they said they had not received my correspondence, or that maybe I had gone to another service department of the company. The eternal game of this company is that it is never possible to cancel the account. They will continue this game until they exhaust the accumulated money. Also, I never received the policy, that is, the certificate, I never received it. They never sent it. It's a complete scam. I'm just giving them one star, but they really don't deserve even one.Review from Chris K

Got the policy a couple years ago. Tried to make a claim since I was out of work for an accident, Would not honor the claim, Said it didn't meet the criteria for reimbursement. Have been trying to cancel the policies for over 2 months. Keep getting the runaround. First they say its canceled and I wont be charged. Then I get charged and told it wasn't canceled. Then I need to send in more signed paperwork to cancel it. They only cancel part of the policy. Next thing I know I am getting a letter stating they will be opening a loan to help cover the cost of the policy even tho I canceled it. This company is the biggest scam. I was told I'd be able to get all money back if I ever wanted to cancel and that I would have to go through another call to finalize the application before any charges were made. I didn't have any time to contact them back for the calls and to say that I didn't want the service anymore due to going through a divorce and needing to get everything ready to move while also needing to get adjusted to working OT. While at work, I noticed I got an email stating everything was finalized and I had a charge come out of my account. I contacted ****** to try getting things figured out - for him to have ***, his manager that sounded a lot like him, try to convince me to only drop the price down despite me saying I need to spend hundreds more on child support than I expected - more than the amount the insurance was going to cost and told me that ****** didn't tell me the truth and that the first payment can't be refunded. It just got charged less than an hour ago and haven't used any feature or even signed into the account. I don't see how I can't be refunded the $113 when it shouldn't have even been able to be charged yet, since I never spoke to the second ****** to finish the application. I opened my policy just shy of a year ago and life got really Hectic so I paid my premium and didn't look into the policy much however during open enrollment, I decided to get more life insurance through my company and cancel my policy with this American income life insurance while looking for my policy number and emails I saw that there was a recent email that came to me with another lady's name on it. We have the same first name after further review I saw that there were two Policies on My Account one mine one hers when I sent an email asking about the status of the cancellation & why this person was on My Account the response only came about the closure of the account. so I made a phone call and explained the situation. The representative told me that they could not find a policy under the policy number that I provided which is in an email from them when I asked to speak to a supervisor she transferred me to a recording. I hung up and called back. I explained to the representative I did not want to be transferred to a recording, but I actually wanted to speak with a supervisor. I would want her to get them on the phone and transfer me directly to them she told me OK hold on and sent me back to the same voicemail. I hung up the phone and tried to call back. however there was a message saying the company was closed. It was 5:31 PM Eastern time and the company does not close until 6 PM. I have sent another email. It will be my final email requesting additional information before I have to take legal action for fraud on my account. When I tried to access the online account again to try to dig for more information on her, they had blocked my access. I think it is worth noting that my cancellation had been completed about 7 to 10 days prior to this. I have had it with this company. They will call you incessantly saying they need to talk to you about important changes to your policy. All they want to do is upsale you more insurance. They will continue to call until you answer the phone and will call you every few days. You get a different agent trying to speak to you. I am so aggravated with the phone calls, I am cancelling my current policy - if they will do it. I tried to cancel a different policy and told agents repeatedly, but they just let it rock on until any cash value was used to pay for premiums.American Income Life Insurance Company Response

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I have never in my life had such a horrible experience with a company. This company has engaged in questionable business practices and are harassing stalkers. They call back to back to back to back to back all day long for days at a time. They do not leave voicemails. People well WORK during the day and first and foremost are not available to speak just because you are. Secondly leave a vm and if folks WANT to talk to you they will call back. If not, leave them be. The fact you call 6-8 times a day every day is literal harassment. I cancelled auto draft and they withdrew funds a month later which I had to dispute through my bank because they ignored my email. Tried to tell me I had to have a meeting to cancel my policy. Um no, that's not how life works. That's a sad attempt to try to hold you hostage. I completed cancellation forms and sent them in weeks ago and just got new cancellation forms to complete and remit. I have scanned copies and will send them in AGAIN this week via certified mail. If my policy doesn't get cancelled this time, I have everything I need to take this horrible company to court. Horrible service. From the start to the end. As American citizens we are already overwhelmed by low wages, inflation, crime, homelessness, the migrant crisis; and companies like this run rampant with their scams and schemes. It began with a scammy agent who sold me a policy which was not a good fit for me ( in order to get more monthly premium and a higher commission). 3 years later I decided to find out more about the details of my coverage, and a new agent (from a different agency) explained to me that the coverage I have is not a good fit. It was a 10 year paid up policy, and ideal for someone who is sickly and dying. With the help of this new agent (who was not associated with this company) I was able to lower my monthly premium by $50; and get the coverage I needed, which mainly was the death and burial benefit. So I cancelled the policy with AIL and get a confirmation. I requested that the surrender amount (once the policy is surrendered there is a payout amount) to be credited to my bank account. A week later, I get a letter in the mail with a bill for $134. Thankfully, I had time to follow up and find out why they were sending me a ****. The woman on the other end said 'oops, sorry; you don't owe that bill." ***? I want to make clear the loss of $50 monthly doesn't bankrupt me...but once again its the principle. Its not fair or right to consumers. Do you wonder why we as consumers are afraid to answer a phone call, respond to an email, or let someone come to our door with a sales pitch? American Income Life Is Horrible. The Agents Don't Care About You. Twice I Told an Agent That I Needed ta Make a Payment On a Day That I Got Paid. Because I Was Short On Funds. and When They Agreed ta Do That. a Few Days Later My Account Was Charged and Was Almost Negative. and Then Another Agent I Spoke To About That Played Dumb When I Confronted Her Saying That I Needed ta Make My Payment On a Day That I Got Paid and Then Charged My Account Anyway. and I Wanted ta Cancel My Policy But Then They Convinced My ta Stay Wit The Company and I Told Them No. and That's When They Started Harassing Me. This company was extremely deceitful to my 19 year old daughter. They tricked her into signing up then refused to cancel once she spoke to me and relized that they had robed her into a expensive policy that she does not need in anyway! We blocked them at her bank so now they started harrasing her via phone and text all hours of the night to the point that I have to get involved but nobody will return my calls or texts even though they are actively calling her. They asked her for emergency contacts then they called them without her permission and tried selling to them as well. Very dissatisfied
