In May 2024, I faced harassment from Rent-A-Center (*******************************), though I am not the account holder; my husband is. Despite consistently paying $160 biweekly, Rent-A-Center became aggressive when we were a week behind.During the first incident, an employee banged on my door loudly enough to shake the walls. I spoke through the door, but he responded rudely, embarrassing me in front of neighbors. When I called the store, they acknowledged we were behind and confirmed collections would continue. Despite arranging payments, the lack of internal communication led to repeated calls and visits.Later, Rent-A-Center sent another employee who banged on my windows and door, demanding I answer. I had requested no home visits due to my PTSD from previous law enforcement work, yet the harassment continued. My husband, who works a dangerous job often 275 feet in the air, spoke with ******* at the store, asking them to contact only him and stop visiting our home since Im often alone. Despite reaching an agreement, the visits ************ October 2024, we were six days late. On October 25, a representative called, claiming he was outside my house. I was across the street paying bills, but he rudely insisted hed camp out until I returned. The shop owner, *****, overheard this conversation and recorded the incident on his security cameras. When I called ******, he denied our previous agreement, and I continued to receive calls despite giving them my husbands number.I filed two reports with Rent-A-Centers customer service (#*******, #******* and finally reported the harassment to the ************************. Officer **** warned Rent-A-Center that further visits would be trespassing and advised me to call the police if they returned.This complaint is being submitted to Rent-A-Center, ****** Reviews, the BBB, and the Attorney General to address Rent-A-Centers unprofessional and harassing conduct.Review from Tammy F

I have been with r/c overall 10 years i will never get nothing else from yalk I have spent over *****p on stuff payed off . Call with a few stuff that needs few nope. How come I ************* Stuff was broken and they never replaced my property that was broken. I had gotva bed room set the worker's ********************************************************************************************* come is good on worker's comp 859 but over 4 h a week was alot I never got my credit tords my other stuff . I have payed off a stove ,feg 2 recliners maters for truck a bed California king living room furniture washer 2 tv I will never get anything from yall again the ins is a joke and my credit i never gotRent-A-Center, Inc. I been a customer 10+ years Paid off several items . Last month or 2 this store has gotten bad Lie to customer (myself) coming to my work and raising voice in front of my customers. Calling me and yelling on phone I was hung up 3 times by ******* . My trust with *** has declined. No call backs from upper management after being told they were call me with 48 hours well been a week . The service at the ******************* in *********** is never been as awful as the past couple of monthsRent-A-Center, Inc. Response

I have been with *** in *******, ** and have never had any issues until these last few months. I have been more than cooperative with this facility only to be given the runaround. They continue to make my payments due on weeks that are not my due dates despite already having this conversation with *** and the store manager *****. Also, I have been asking for weeks for my agreement numbers so I can see my accounts online, but to no avail. A few months ago they blamed not being able to see my online account through the app due to some system glitch, yet will not give me my required information so that i can look at my accounts. Today set the straw off when they already knew i was out of town and on my way back i told them yesterday 10/11/2024 that i would be back later in the afternoon today 10/12/2024 and could only make a partial payment in which I was dismissed. Someone came to my home around 4:30PM and my babysitter who is not to answer the door for anyone as she is there with my children heard the man telling the woman there was a key in the door should he just come in, which police have been notified. This is extremely unprofessional of this business and i will not be speaking to anyone further until I can speak to someone from your corporate office. Horrible said I only had to pay35$ then send me a text message saying I have to pay 112$ more after they took my 35$ I asked for refund they said 6 business days it's been part that still no refund in fact they tried to charge me for a payment when I have no items .itsa scam I call the number it goes to voicemailReview from scott u

This store is awesome. If you just honor your commitment to the agreement that you sign. then all is good. I have been in the store where I have heard customers that are behind on their payments yelling and screaming at the employees and they employees remain very professional. I have looked at other individual reviews and what i have noticed i the people leaving negative reviews are those that don't honor the agreement that they signed. The store manager ***** and the Credit Manager ***** *. go above and beyond to help when times get hard and financially struggling. All you have to do is communicate. with either one of them and they have tools that can help. I would recommend doing business with this storeRent-A-Center, Inc. Response

I have been a loyal customer of this place for years. If you would have had an issue prior to this new management theyd actually work with you. Now they claim theyll work with you and really just threaten to take your stuff if you go through a rough time. Theyre supposed to be for people going through a rough time but theyre an absolute joke. Absolutely a joke.Rent-A-Center, Inc. Response

I only wish I could attach two images that would take much less explaining. A picture of my lease agreement and a picture of a new lease agreement. I was to return a set of washer and dryer I was renting, and was offered an exchange value for a new agreement. I took the PS5 as a gift to my wife who would be on maternity leave soon and need something to do at home. I have just finished the agreement with the Playstation, but can find no receipt for the total cost anywhere. Just wanted to know how much I paid. *** through some old receipts in my email and found the original purchase agreement. Discovered I would be paying almost 1300 for this device, with the same as cash price being 1000. Nowhere on the agreement could I find information on what exchange value I received for the washer and dryer set I had been paying into, nor did I know it would only have taken 3 months of those payments either way. So I went to look what they charge for a new agreement. 1600$ for a new device that is around 650$ retail, and the same as cash price also being 999$. Which is a little bit less than what I just paid to be in time for the same as cash price, as it says in my agreement would be around 1000$. In no way is this fair that someone could start a new lease and pay less or the same price as someone who had hundreds of dollars of exchange value for a previous agreement. I was also charged ***** a month for some service warranty that I was not made aware of, but I see my electronic signature under the agreement of this monthly installment.Not to mention if I was a day or two late they were sure to come banging in my door and calling my relatives.Rent-A-Center, Inc. ************ ******** Southeast 15th location. Beyond terrible. It's going on 3 weeks my washer is broken it only takes a simple part to fix. A week went by and no one called for an appointment to come out to repair the washer. When I called back when I call to see about someone coming out they acted like they didn't know who I was. Eventually I got a hold of someone and he said he would order the part while on the phone with me and it would be in that Thursday now this would be the second week. Thursday comes and goes and no call so the following day I call they say it's the part should be in that day I say okay the day ends the part never came no one ever called. The following day I call. They say they don't know who I am again eventually they figure out who I am. The man says it could take up to 7 days but wasn't looking at any computer with any factual information when I asked him to do so he says the new date would bring it out to a third week with no washer! I asked for a temporary washer that I told that I would was going to get because this was unusually complicated and Mr ***** straight up said no we're not going to give you a temporary washer. So now I'm forced to wait 3 weeks with no temporary washer and a date for the repair part that keeps changing. I was so upset I started bawling. I am a woman with three daughters and we have menstruation and not having a washer is a big problem but I see that they do not care about that. So as of now I'm forced to wash clothes by hand. They have not been helpful they do not care they have treated me badly and the sad part is is that I have been with this company for years now and this is the second appliance that I am purchasing with this place and I deeply regret it.Rent-A-Center, Inc. We just got furniture from their store and it was the day of a required payment at 10am and these people came to my job to harass me as if I was late or behind on payments! These people are terrible! This location should be shut down!Rent-A-Center, Inc. Response
