Horrible service. On July 15th A Star was contacted by 2-10 **************** to repair my ice maker on my refrigerator. The A Star technician came out (*************************) and looked at the appliance and informed me that the ice maker was non operational and required replacing. He then charged me $115.00 for a service call. He told me that he would call the warranty company and me the next day (July 16) to submit the diagnoses and part number for ordering. The warranty company that contracts A-Star Appliance Repair requires them to submit the appliance diagnosis and part request within 24 to 48 hours of the service call. He did not call me or the warranty company to submit the proper information. The warranty contacted him 3 days after the service call and he told them that he would submit the diagnoses to the and he never did. After one and a half weeks still no response from A Star Appliance, so the warranty company cancelled the work order. I call A Star Appliance Repair today (July 25) and asked why nothing has been done on the warranty work order by them. **** was rude and dishonest and said he had ordered the part. I asked him for the part number and the date of the order and he said he could not access it in his database. Judging from the majority of this business' reviews which are horrible, the owner is more than likely to respond to it with dishonesty and rudeness and not accepting any responsibility but will surely take your money. Horrible service....Dishonest and extremely rude. Avoid A Star Appliance Repair.Review from Deborah B

I am very disappointed that this repair person did not honor his 90 day warranty on fixing my ice maker. His quotes were confusing because he did not itemize the cost of his labor. For some strange reason, he buys the suspected broken appliance parts first whether you need them or not. When I asked what do you do with the parts you did not need: he said he throws the extra parts away. I suspect I was charged for all the parts including the ones that were not used. When I asked this person what brand of appliances were the best: I was told he could not recommend any brand because all appliances are made to break quickly. Do not use this company which has one employee/owner. BEWARE!!!Review from Ivon O

Ive dealt with this guy twice already. My home warranty company sends him out. Hes lazy and doesnt follow through. I was told my washing machine was junk and there was no fix (talks a lot but I dont care, I just need my washer fixed). Okay cool. Make sure to put in that diagnosis so I can move along with my claim and they can help me get a new one. I was told the diagnosis would go in same day once he returned to the office. A whole week plus later still no diagnosis which stalls the claim process. Egotistical, his time is more important than mine and my families. Same thing happened last year.Review from Robert B

A-Star repaired our refrigerator, They were professional, courteous, and highly experienced. The whole process was customer-centric, from communications and setting expectations to actually meeting/exceeding those expectations. They explained options and courses of action in a way that we could understand them. I would highly recommend them!A-Star Appliance Repair Response

They are HORRIBLE! Before I start be prepared that the owner will likely run his mouth & take zero accountability after I submit this, he'll put it on everyone except for his lazy, lying, inconsiderate self. I had a drip under my refrigerator, I called filed a claim w/my home warranty on 1/19/22. They immediately sent this in writing to myself & A-Star appliance repair. I waited an hour before calling them myself. No answer. I called again. No answer, left a message. I called again. He answered! I explain the situation. I asked that someone please come out today. He said he can't it'll have to be tomorrow (Thursday). I tell him again about the leak. I've got towels down to absorb the moisture. He rudely told me "you're the home owner you should know how to turn off the water". I'm also a lady that cannot move a 500lb fridge. But I chill bc I need someone to come out asap. Next day Thursday morning, no call, finally reach out at 10ish. I explain that we need to be scheduled 1st or last as my husband & I are self employed & we have a 1230 appointment. He says he's working on the route. I get a call at 11am say he'll be here between 12-2. Calmly I say we can't be here, I explained that this morning. Can we be your last appointment? He gave a flat no! I'll have to reschedule for tomorrow. Not let me see what I can do, nothing. I say forget it then I'll go w/your competitor. Due to his laziness I ended up having thousands of dollars worth in floor damage all for a $50 part that this jerk couldn't be bothered with. He called on 1/25/22 saying he had a work order, forgetting we spoke. I say we found an other repai...click! This jerk hung up on me! He is a lazy, rude, unorganized & inconsiderate jerk. I notified the warranty company to have him removed as a vendor! Save yourself the headache of responding since I know you have no integrity or decency in you. It's a joke that you claim to help veterans for a sympathy marketing Consumer- pick another repair company!Customer Response

We never step foot in this customers home. We tried to schedule for service but the time frame would not work for the customer. We had 10 other customer on the route that day and was not able to do a later apt. The customer promptly said we will call the warranty company and hung up on us lol. The customer does not know me nor have we done any work with this customer in the past through her home warranty. To flat out insult someone they never met nor have done business with just shows her character as a person. I am personally glad they got another company for there issue. I dont work with customers like her. We give military discounts to private customers. This person has a home warranty company and would only pay a service fee that her warranty company charges. Not sure what kind of delusional human being leaves a negative response to a company that has never done work for them.Customer Response

Precisely my point i called you directly Wednesday and Thursday. I even said when I absolutely could not be at the home which is conveniently when you scheduled it for. You didn't do work because you're lazy and you don't listen to the customer. You haven't had a positive review in years! Check yourself! Your laziness, & lack of attention has cost many customers thousands of dollars and inconvenience. You're the worst kind of small business owner. You are rude, unapologetic or accommodating. Nobody wants your business anymore anyway. You lean on a warranty company! Gtfoh!A-Star Appliance Repair Response

Your saying im lazy even though i do at least 10 service calls a day. i dont have time to cater to rude arrogant people like you. We tried to to go out you were a rude person and i dont deal with idiots like you. get a life move on quit being obsessed. Everyone notices we have not even stepped foot in your house!!. We have never done work for you or charged you any money. End of story. Your a home owner and a real estate agent that cant even turn off her fridge water. Useless. ** ATTENTION FUTURE CUSTOMERS **Take note all that are reading this. This is the owner calling a client, and i am a client bc my home warranty sent him the initial work order an idiot. Funny that you call me an idiot. You can't even follow a simple note like these specific hours are absolutely when I can't be home. Just an added Testament to your laziness, lack of attention to ******* *************** You're right I'm a home owner that can not move a 500lb stainless steel refrigerator. Now let's add psycho to your list of qualities. I never mentioned my occupation STALKER. I do intend on letting my clients know who NOT to call! You haven't had a positive review in over 2 years! I certainly see why. You didn't set foot in my home because I canceled you! If your work is like your attitude, rude, lazy, slow and sloppy who in their right mind would want you to do anything?? We spent 2 days waiting on you!! But whatever I don't expect you to assume any responsibility. That would mean you have integrity which you clearly do not. Good day to you!Review from M. P.

10/27/2021 is the date I opened the ticket, they came out once took my deductible, and haven't been back at all. Contacted the warranty company, and A-Star never submitted a parts/repair claim, and I'm still waiting.A-Star Appliance Repair Response

Yes we went out to diagnose your unit through a home warranty company. Your have a service fee due through that home warranty. Your warranty company is probably one of the worst which is no fault of ours. There were several issues we had with your work order while submitting the reports online. We do not talk to reps at the warranty company. We have a online portal that we submit all reports through. Your work order was coming back with issue after issue and we had to have multiple different work orders created so we could get authorizations for repair. Just fyi we still have not got authorization for your repair. All of this is not the fault of my company's. You need to contact your warranty company who handles your repair since they are paying for it. And have them contact us or fix their website issues.Customer Response

We could have saved ourselves the headache had you made this known to me. I did speak to you previously with the promise of a follow-up, which never came.I've come to the same conclusion and cancelling them. Thanks for the feedback,
