I agreed to a landscaping project with Matthew ********* on June 29, 2021. He informed me the project would be complete in 3 days. I paid him $4907.00 in 2 payments. He started the project on August 1, 2021 he never completed the project. I called and texted him numerous times from July to October 2021. He kept making excuses about completing my project. On October 6, he apologized to me and stated he would refund my money for the project, because the way it was handled. He only refunded me $2000.00 it suppose to $4907.00. He started making excuses again about the rest of the refund for $2907.00. I filed legal action against him in Small Claims Court. He was served by the Sheriff about the Court date, he did not show up for Court. The Judgement from the Court was for me the Plaintiff. He was informed of the outcome and still did not pay me. I filed an Abstract of Judgement, they placed a Lien on his property for not paying me for the Judgement. He still owes me not over $3000.00. He thinks he is above the Law. He scammed a Veteran, dishonesty never pays off.

Unfortunately there are a few things left out. There was work that was completed and I never stated I would give full refund. Work that was performed would not be refunded. There was a great deal of tree trimming performed on two trees. There was plants that were transplanted, most importantly there was the block wall that we were in the middle of installing and customer came out and said he didnt like the color of the blocks even though pictures were sent to customer for approval prior to purchase. Customer even at a point said he would cover any extra labor and materials that was required due to this change of invoice. I special ordered Brick from a plant 200 miles away but the supplier wouldnt send materials until they had a full truck load to send to this area. It was taking several weeks of calls to even get the order placed. That of which was $450. We also did all the demo work on this property prior to us showing up for install of which customer is the one who asked us to stop. I didnt receive paper work on the case until after judgement had been carried out. Im sorry we didnt get to finish the install while we were there due to customers request to stop after half the blocks was already cemented down and mortared on the blocks customer approved. Unfortunately we can make everyone happy. We did show up when we said we would. We did deliver the products on invoice and try to perform labor like we said we would. We cant however predict the sudden change of mind on materials and not get paid for services rendered although sometimes others feel people should not be compensated for labor they were hired to do but homeowner is one who caused the stop all work.
