    Advertising Review:

On March 14, 2023, BBB requested that Infinite Discs substantiate, modify, or discontinue advertising the claims below, which were made on their website at the following links:

    https://infinitediscs.com/

    https://infinite discs.com/brand/infinite-discs

    https://infinite discs.com/brand/innova

    https://infinitediscs.com/products/physical-gift-card

    Objective Superlative:

The business’s website claims they “have the largest selection of Frisbee golf discs from all major manufacturers,” “the world's largest selection of disc golf discs,” and to be “the #1 disc golf retailer in the world.” The company continued to claim that “Innova Champion Discs is the world's largest manufacturer of disc golf discs.” According to BBB’s Code of Advertising, “superlative statements in advertisements about the tangible qualities and performance values of a product or service are objective claims for which the advertiser must possess substantiation as they can be based upon accepted standards or tests. As statements of fact, such claims, like ‘#1 in new car sales in the city,’ can be proved or disproved.”

    Made in USA:

The business’s website claims that “Infinite Discs are manufactured by Innova Champion Discs right here in the USA.” According to the BBB Code of Advertising: “‘Made in USA,’ and similar terms used to describe the origin of a product must be truthful and substantiated. In general, all or virtually all of the product must be made in the USA. Qualified ‘Made in USA’ claims can be made under certain circumstances and with appropriate disclosures.”

As of May 31, 2023, the business hasn’t fulfilled BBB’s requests to substantiate, modify, or discontinue these claims.

Suspect business practices at this retailer. Their site states "Pictures of EVERY disc. View the disc and stamp in the weight you are looking for." Looking in their faq's they say they do not in fact weigh every disc. Are the pictures on your website the actual disc pictures? "Yes. In some cases where multiple discs are of the same color and stamp, we will use the same image multiple times. You will receive a disc that looks like the one in the website image." So clearly the statement is false. "Here at Infinite Discs, we try to represent each disc as accurately as possible on our website by including a photo and the details for each one." This is false, they stated themselves they do not take a picture of every disc nor are there details provided for each disc. They also don't weigh discs and take no responsibility for what they're selling, their stance is the manufacturer knows what they're doing so we don't need to check anything. "Because weve chosen to trust the disc manufacturers to represent their products accurately and according to their own standards, we do not take the extra time to weigh each disc as we add them into our online inventory. Here at Infinite Discs, we currently have three different digital scales which we use to weigh packages as we ship them. When used to weigh individual discs, we can lay the same disc on each of those three scales and get results that *** differ a gram or two from one scale to the next or from the weight indicated on the disc. So which of those scales is correct?" Pretty simple, the scales that are calibrated are correct, and different scales have different tolerance ranges and scales that are designed for large items will not display as accurately as smaller scales. This is common sense, they simply use this as their justification for not doing any of their own inspection. Numerous times I've contacted infinite discs about questionable products I've received, their response is I can return but at my own expense, and only for store credit or if I want my money back there will be a 10% restocking fee. So if you receive something and it has an issue, it's up to you to prove it and get them to agree it is an issue otherwise you're out of luck. Their stance is that the manufacturer has already done inspections therefore they don't need to do anything. They say each manufacturer has their own process, they trust it, and who are they to question it. Buyer's beware, ordering from this place is a roll of the dice, there is nothing done by infinite discs to ensure customer's are receiving good products.
