Communications with Brian Seegmiller, began 7/2022. We followed instruction from BS and worked with a recommended Architect followed by Structural Engineer. We reached back out to BS 7/2023 and BS was happy to take the job, we met in person many times, he came by our home discussed the process and stated next steps were to put down a deposit once the estimate was approved and the job starts 3-4 weeks post deposit. BS was easy to get a hold of, responded to communications. We received the estimate on 8/1, signed it 8/5, BS picked up 10K deposit 8/6 with the understanding work would begin within 3-4 weeks as communicated, along with coordinating pick up of check BS sent texts (prior to having my money) that his team would work on our back gate for job access and organize permits. BS deposited my check on 8/9. No communication for weeks, no updates, no team showing up to work on gate, no permit submission. I sent BS a text 9/5 requesting update. BS did not respond. I sent BS an email on 9/8 requesting update, BS did not respond.9/8 (over a month since depositing my check) he responds,"Im sorry I meant to text you back". There was no reference in his text about permits started, job beginning, etc. I text back on 9/11/23 we need a start date, responds to my text with a vague "let me see what we can do to get things started". Requested update 9/12. 9/18, 9/20 via text, emailed 9/20 (attempt to call but VMfull). BS stole our money. No actual intent to complete a job. I have asked for my money back no response or vague response "maybe in 2 weeks". I gave him a clear deadline and he is now claiming to be out of town. BS is using me as a bank and holding my money as if it were a loan has kept it out of my account where over 2 months it would have accrued 4.8% interest ($960.00). I took a personal loan to cover the project. I paid 1780.00 on this loan before I decided to repay it in full. Right now I am out $12,740 and am requesting you assistance in getting this back
