I've been a member at this rec center for years. I pay for private swim lessons for my kids. I brought my kids to their swim lessons, and there were other people in the pool playing ball, tossing it hard to other people, using up most of the space in the pool. So I called the front desk to see if there are supposed to be people in the pool while others are taking lessons because my kids didn't have enough space to get their lessons. The teacher kept having to move around them. I spoke with the front desk who wanted to give me the round about, and they sent me to ask the lifeguards what the rules were. I asked to speak with a manager and they were very kind in coming to see us. They went and spoke with the director and they stated that it was open plunge and that the pool had to be shared. My concern is, that I am paying for private swim lessons. I am paying for a service that my kids can benefit from but they are not being given enough space to learn. Why allow swim lessons to be held during open plunge hours? My concern is that my kid is going to accidentally get hit while trying to get lessons. They can't even hear the teacher well enough because of how loud it is in here and it baffles me that the director would allow this to happen. How unprofessional. Why pay more money to get a service if I'm not going to get that service? Is this just about money for them?
