Let me first say that my doctor has been great. I feel comfortable with her so I am sad that I am pulling out as her patient but there is good reason. The staff and communication is a MAJOR issue at this practice. Let me give you a little dose of how their timeline goes when you have a very important procedure you need done asap:
-11/16 I had an appointment with Dr *** for prep for a procedure that I need. A very important one. She informed me that I would need to wait for biopsy results for 1-2 weeks and when results came in a nurse would be calling to schedule asap.
-11/22 I received voicemail from nurse (not bad! that was quick!). I called back within two minutes and was sent to voicemail. Called back again later that day and was told by someone at the front desk that "they were not at their phones all day and she would get back to me I already left a message" Of course I never got a return call.
-11/23 I left another message with the answering service. No return call. The holidays then came.
-11/29-12/6 I called several times and also let messages on the portal for someone to return my call. I also called my primary Dr twice who sent two messages to them The second message was to their triage nurse.
-12/7 I get a call from a nurse who finally let me know my biopsy results were good to proceed with the procedure...I let her know dates and also said it was imperative that I get an answer on this as I needed to have **** paperwork completed and to schedule coverage for my busy office. I said that the procedure could be as soon as the 15th of December so that did not leave much time and I would not be available otherwise until mid January. She informed me that she would be working out all the details and reaching out to person who handled insurance so that she could get it scheduled for 15th. She promised a call back the next day.
-12/8 no call (imagine that!)
-12/9 (get ready for it..) I get a call from someone completely different who said, and I quote "I see you have been trying to reach us, what can I help you with"......?! This is the one that got me. She had NO idea what I was calling about, had NO records (according to her) for any procedures that needed scheduling or the phone call from Tuesday...NOTHING guys. So I explained everything AGAIN....THIS person also promised a call back that day or by morning the next day.
Today is 12/10. I have yet to receive a call back from this office. I called my primary care who was easily able to pull up notes on the chart and see that insurance had explained breakdown of payment etc and sent it back to the chart on 12/8. No one cared enough to contact me even when I stressed how important it was and then had some clueless person call me saying there was nothing on the chart?! Insane.
As you can see this practice has a HUGE problem with communication, organization, something. I get that it is busy. I get that COVID has put a huge strain on employment. I understand all of that but this? THIS is ridiculous. Someone said to me...they would not recommend this practice to anyone. Well...neither would I. This has been a huge waste of time and money for me and now I must start back at square one with a new dr. Steer clear. Wish me luck on getting my records transferred.
