In January 2018, BBB attempted to contact ATOH Pet Transportation Company after receiving a complaint alleging that a consumer paid $400 for a puppy. The consumer subsequently paid an additional $1,800 in “shipping costs”.  The consumer had no further contact from the business and did not receive the puppy nor the refund requested in their complaint to BBB.

BBB asked ATOH Pet Transportation Company to provide basic information including its physical address, a working telephone number, names & contact information of responsible management, and verification of state and/or federal licensure to transport pets.  BBB also requested references with full contact information for at least ten (10) U.S. consumers who had made successful purchases via the website.

As of January 23, 2018, BBB had received no response from ATOH Pet Transportation Company.  Registry information for the website (now deactivated) shows that it originated in Panama. BBB has not been able to locate information connecting ATOH Pet Transportation to any corporation or other entity in the United States.

BBB has reason to believe that atohpet.com was a fraudulent website and urges consumers to use extreme caution before making a purchase or sharing any other information with ATOH Pet Transportation Company.

On June 2017 BBB received information claiming ATOH Pet Transportation Company was requesting $1800 via Western Union to cover pet transportation costs. This business was also displaying the BBB logo on their website.
BBB wrote to the business at the address on their website, but mail was returned because this address is the business location for another company unrelated to ATOH Pet Transportation Company. BBB attempted to contact the business by phone June 19, 2017 but no return call was received. 
Before sending money, BBB encourages consumers to request an updated picture of the pet with your name on a piece of paper next to the pet or to make arrangements to meet the pet in person.
