We began a rebuild after a fire in 2022. GW Savages project manager was rude, swore at me, lied to us and the fire department, made mistakes in the house, patched new siding with old siding that didnt match, and stole construction materials from the rebuild that had been paid for by our insurance company. The theft was caught on security camera. We me caught, they simply pulled material out of their truck and left it in the driveway with the box split open. This is not a company you want to have in or near your property. In 2023, there was another house fire that virtually brought it back to the condition it was in after the first fire. GW Savage project manager told us he remembered that he shut off the heater. When questioned by the fire chief he suddenly remembered that he hadnt turned it on. He was the last one there. The fire, suspiciously centered around an old heater with a hose running out the window to a propane tank. From the video of the fire the propane tank can be seen blowing up AFTER the fire was fully engulfing the side of the house. Everyone who is aware of the fire, including us, believes it was started by an employee of GW Savage by accident. The investigator will not disclose any information pertaining to the fire potentially started by the contractor. Because of this, we are forced to pay mortgage and rent on social security. Upon a quote for the 2nd fire of $425,000+ to rebuild it we decided to get a second quote. Now that Covid has decreased substantially, building materials have gone DOWN not up. I got a second opinion and the new quote was for $225,000. How is it that there is a $200,000 difference between quotes? Where is all the money from the additional $200,000 not needed to rebuild the house?Not only did we get over charged but GW Savage stored what we had left from the fire of 2022. Upon return, several items were missing.They have very poor business practices and even worse customer service.
